All you need is a friendly local to guide you and you should be fine. Travel to certain parts of Sinai these days is restricted due to counter terrorism.l vs muslim brotherhood, but in Egypt travelling in groups is much safer, even for married couples.

Theres something fascinating being inside the underground burial chamber in one of the great pyramids. Can highly recommend!
