People who make this claim are probably referring to a recent Supreme Court decision on faithless electors. The court found that if the legislatures send electors to vote for who won the popular vote the electors have to abide by that. It actually confirms that it's the legislatures that are in control. They nominate electors to vote the way they want, and the electors must vote that way in Congress.

That's one option. For example, if this lawsuit wins, it basically says that state legislatures can select their electors that they want. So, state legislatures of PA, GA, WI and MI can select their electors if they want. If that is the case, depending on how much we call our state legislatures, they could end up sending biden electors or trump electors. They can ALSO choose to NOT send electors. In which case, the no one gets over 270 votes, so it goes to congress (where I think a few things can happen, even what you are suggesting above).

The definition of appointed is tricky. And then Texas might have wished to have thrown in AZ and or Nevada. If GA, WI, MI, and PA are just ‘thrown out’ or not appointed for anyone, there is an argument that Biden still wins the majority of appointed electors.

From what i understand, it’s not state reps that will vote on next potus, it’s state congressional reps. These people represent small districts in a state and as you know this past election shows Trump won many more of these districts. While Pelosi has an overall majority I the house, she loses because a majority of STATES have conservative majorities and each state gets one vote. The reps basically have to vote for Trump because their constituency is red and voted that way as well. We do have to be concerned about a few double crossing Trump but then they have their own people to answer to. If I was was a senate issue it would be different because the senators would be under pressure to vote as the state as a whole did (fraud notwithstanding)
But we’ve seen them side with us in regards to the court case. We gotta keep the pressure up on them.
They can't be trusted to have a spine, but also it would be very awkward for them to seat electors for Biden if the SCOTUS essentially rules that almost all of the votes that factored into his "win" are completely unconstitutional.

If it wins, the ruling would say that any election rule passed that doesn’t conform to the state’s constitution... is unconstitutional. So the state legislature in each respective state couldn’t constitutionally consider those votes as valid.
Well, the case doesn't bring up the votes. It brings up the fact that governors and SOSs in these states violated Article 2 of the constitution where it says that state legislatures make laws regarding state elections (paraphrase). Also, the Texas case does not ask them to invalidate votes. Instead, it asks a number of outcomes, but the one that I think is most likely is that these states can decide which electors that they send. At that point, it is likely that some or all of these states decide that they won't send any electors. That's when it goes to the House Delegation in congress.
It's really complicated though, and there are still many ways for Trump to win.
It doesn’t go to a contingent election if the defendant states don’t appoint any Electors. The US Constitution states that whichever candidate has an absolute majority of Electoral Votes in the Electoral College wins the election.
You don’t always need 270 Electoral Votes. You only need an absolute majority of whatever total amount of Electors is appointed to the Electoral College. A plurality is not an absolute majority, but Biden would still have an absolute majority if all 4 defendant states in the suit didn’t appoint any Electors at all. Biden would then have 244 out of the 476 total remaining appointed Electoral Votes (51.3% because 239 would be an absolute majority at that point). Trump would have 232.
A contingent election is incredibly difficult with only 2 candidates, and has only happened once before in US history in the election of 1800 when Jefferson and Burr tied.
Let’s see some ways this could play out:
A) In the extremely unlikely scenario that all 4 of the defendant states aren’t allowed to appoint Electors and thus appoint 0 Electors, at that point some combination from other states of “Biden flip to Trump Faithless Electors” + “Biden flip to Anybody Else Faithless Electors” would also have to = at least 6 total in order to bring Biden down and Trump up to tie at 238 (of 476 total) and go to a contingent election.
B) In the slightly less extremely unlikely scenario that all 4 defendant states ARE allowed to appoint Electors (thus keeping appointed Elector total at 538), at that point some combination from other states of “Biden flip to Trump Faithless Electors” + “Biden flip to Anybody Else Faithless Electors” would also have to = at least 37 total in order to bring Biden down and Trump up to tie at 269 (of 538 total) and go to a contingent election.
If it did miraculously go to a contingent election, we’d then have to worry about having some combination of 4 RINO state legislatures (Republicans currently control 29 state legislatures) stabbing us in the back and not voting for Trump bringing him under 26 needed to win, or 5 RINO state legislatures + the 2 split controlled legislatures teaming up and bringing Biden up to the 26 needed to win.
So you see, it’s better off for Trump if neither A nor B, but instead...
C) These defendant states instead just aren’t allowed to count votes received under any rules that are deemed unconstitutional. Trump automatically wins at that point and this is actually the fairest remedy.
It's really complicated to get to a contingent election. The easiest path to victory for Trump is through the removal of all illegal votes cast (whether illegal because idiot state governments made unconstitutional rule changes, or illegal because of any of the myriad other ways to fraudulently vote e.g. rigged count machines, rigged counters, etc), which SHOULD be done anyway in a fair system.

It's not doomer to point out that we've already been betrayed. I never said that this would be the end of it though. Ultimately, this just means that we have to work harder to contact our state legislatures and be heard.
Have you seen the crowds of DJT supporters screaming at politicians in the tens of thousands. Armed peaceful protesters on their doorsteps protesting in front of their houses. Republican legislatures from around the country joining the suit. No way the Republican party would allow that now. The see the anger and think if they play this right they can sweep everything in 2022. They also know that if they don't they are the 1st ones on the menu.
There is only really one remedy. That is each of the states will have to throw out votes that were received illegally. That means no mail-in ballots, only absentee ballots that have signature verification.
States can't do a special election due to this in the Constitution (Article 2 section 1):
So these 4 states can't have a different day from the rest of the country to determine the president and vice president.
They also can't just appoint the electors themselves at this point due to this (again Article 2 section 1):
They have already directed the Electors are appointed based on the election and following election law. The remedy is to follow that law.
If the evidence of a legal ballot has been destroyed it can not count. Only votes cast legally based on election law from the legislature can count.
The 4 states can appoint their electors based on legal votes, or if they insist that they can determine legal from illegal votes at this point, they lose their electors.
Basically, this should put us back to where we are at at midnight on election day.
I think the Texas is lawsuit is asking for a few remedies, and one of those remedies is that these states who have violated election laws can decide their electors. It only ends up at midnight on election day if state legislatures decide that those numbers are the true counts. This lawsuit is not challenging the constitutionality of the votes, it is challenging the fact that governors and SOSs changed laws when according to the constitution, they don't have that power, so it doesn't really make sense that they would go back to election night (unless that's what the state legislature decides...they could also decide to keep the Biden illegal votes or to not send electors at all).
Trump might still have a trump card. According to this Thomas Wictor, the U.S. military Cyber Command monitored everything on election night and Trump is waiting to expose all corrupt institutions before revealing everything.
