I've said for some time that we deserve a country where the political divide is whether to elect libertarians or conservatives, not whether to elect neo-cons or commies.
I disagree. Slavery was unsustainable and we have so many problems today, because a lazy, decadent slaveowning aristocracy put their human possessions above the freedoms this country was founded on. Demographically if not for the civil war the south would've been overrun in slave rebellions.
The south fought well and had better generals, but had an inferior economy that was ultimately unable to wage war for as long as the Union could. The CSA soldiers fought very bravely, but it was for nothing ultimately and those soldiers deserved much better.
Which sounds great, until you realize many secessionist states and their leaders spelled out slavery as a reason they seceded. The south is full of great people, but their decadent, aristocratic elite cared too much about their own pockets and condemned some great and valiant fighters who almost entirely didn't own slaves in an unnecessary war.
I love the south and our generals were a joke compared to many of the CSAs whose soldiers fought bravely and won lots of battles against superior numbers and better equipped soldiers.
The South gets a bum rap for a lot of reasons and the North could have been better about how they acted and behaved with regards to the South and unfortunately rather than have bought the freedom of slaves both sides inevitably opted for a pointless and bloody war.
I honestly don't understand the fixation on the Confederate States of America, and Confederate generals. I do think the movement to rename and dissociate is politically motivated, but absent those motivations, they're not wrong.
Simple, this is a divide and conquer move. By removing any history of the Confederacy, it's statues, memorials, its leader's names they vanish from history. By eliminating the visible history of the war the Left is free to label the South as failures, rebels, red necks, extremists.
This is essentially a planned move to reverse Lincoln's ending of the Civil War "with malice toward none". None of the Confederate generals or political leaders were charged with treason or denied taking their place back into the Union.
Like it or not, slavery was not the sole issue of the war, nor the sole issue it was fought, nor the sole issue the fighting began, nor was abolishing slavery the principal reason many individuals had for fighting on either side.
The issue was state’s rights regarding excessive taxation and non-representation.
That's cowardice at its finest. Just a friendly reminder; they're republicans not conservatives. Just typical establishment trash that need to get voted out as soon as possible.
I am not sure if this is the issue. Trump is pretty for the NDAA, he just wants section 230 repealed with it, otherwise he would sign off on it. Most the republicans that didn't vote or said no, probably want to add that in.
You should. For this is a divide and conquer move. By removing any history of the Confederacy, it's statues, memorials, its leader's names they vanish from history. By eliminating the visible history of the war the Left is free to label the South as failures, rebels, red necks, extremists.

2 steps forward, 2 back it keeps seeing to be. This deep corruption shit needs to get nipped in the bud. How soon until Trump declares martial law again?
Fucking purdue is sending a signal to us... I think he is saying to all trump supporters
FUCK YOU!
Great dig and decode. Thanks patriot.
I hate those two cunts and hate that they’re the lesser of two evils right now.
I've said for some time that we deserve a country where the political divide is whether to elect libertarians or conservatives, not whether to elect neo-cons or commies.
What a beautiful country that would be. It's hard to even imagine.
That is my fear as well
Fort George Floyd coming to a base near you!
It's systemic corruption. Why sro sruprisy round eye?
The swamp protects its own,awe need to burn it out.
EO the names of the bases prior to acting on the bill, I don't think a bill can override an EO can it?
Guys need to get over the Civil War

Slavery had nothing to do with causing the Civil War. It was fought over taxes and lack of representation. https://www.charlestonathenaeumpress.com/the-morrill-tariff-caused-the-perfect-storm-for-economic-disaster-in-the-north/

But by all means show up and vote on compromised systems for these shitheads.
write in doug collins
Fuck Bill Cassidy. Disgrace to Louisiana.
And Markey, they always vote against increases in military spending on bills as does Bernie.
They are just mad it wasn't inclusive enough probably didn't have anything about trans breast feeding or native people in it.
We only need a simple majority among only republicans from each state in the House. We can do that.
We can always recall them, afterwards, and elect a decent person
This is outrageous.

He also doesn't want the bases names changed. Neither do I
Just remember the names.
I don’t give a fuck about confederate generals. Theyre typical traitor-ass, racist, loser Democrats
Edit: miss work; fixed autocorrect duck

Still think this ends with us dragging everyone in D.C. out.

Fuck Blunt. Hawley got us though.
