I used to not realize how much SJW crap they put in shows but now you cannot watch a show without a race card being played, LGBTQXYZ characters, and now COVID as part of the plot

It is no coincidence that white people are disappearing from adverts. It's everywhere you look.

They tell us we have to be the same color as people on tv in order to identify with them. Well, I don't identify with them then so I'm not gonna buy your product. That's their logic, might as well use it against them.

5
AlFreeman 5 points ago +5 / -0

That's not too new. Every villian for ages has been the white capitalist male. It's far beyond cliche.

19
LockeThePatriot 19 points ago +19 / -0

Same. My wife doesn't like watching television with me anymore because I can't get through anything without pointing out all the blatant propaganda. I've been trying to keep it to myself, but the intentional deception/brainwashing is so damn irritating.

11
TenScoops 11 points ago +11 / -0

TV... it's like taking a stab to the eye voluntarily. It's become unbearable.

7
Gesirisi 7 points ago +7 / -0

I just showed your comment to my girlfriend, who is in the exact same boat as your wife. I drive her nuts, but every time she's watching Netflix I can't help but point out the constant non-sense and propaganda.

3
Abovethefray 3 points ago +3 / -0

Same here.

3
LockeThePatriot 3 points ago +3 / -0

Haha nice. Part of it is not being able to help myself, and part of it is just wanting my wife to be aware of it so she's not susceptible to it.

I realized the training was complete the other day when she decided on her own to stop watching the last season of The Good Place because they were beating our fucking heads in with this "white male bad" trope.

4
Gesirisi 4 points ago +4 / -0

I think it's like if your wife was constantly talking to a friend that was trying to manipulate the way she thinks. It's impossible to not be bothered by it.

2
PrinsLaurent 2 points ago +2 / -0

Oh man, I loved The Good Place. Such a brilliant show! But the last season ruined it for me.

6
dennis_nedry 6 points ago +6 / -0

You know it's gone to far when you watch latest Borat and find the SJW crap more disturbing than all the supposedly disturbing things he does.

And the propaganda, first they make fun of his antisemitism which he then "learns" isn't ok. But what happens instead, he becomes anti American, even tho literally every person he met treat him respectfully and has a huge patience with everything he does. Makes no sense.

51
Beat_it_Commie 51 points ago +51 / -0

I very much agree - it's very difficult to watch modern productions, due to everything you listed. Men are weak/incompetent, women are strong, diversity is key, forced LGBT+ relationships, etc - all of the tropes of the last five years. Also, since China has been embedded into all major hollywood productions, they've started forcing Chinese characters, to be able to market the production to mainland China. Marvel movies are case-in-point.

The REAL stinger about hollywood: they openly mock the state of our being. Look at all of the action movies for the past 20+ years. Corrupt government officials, corrupt/rogue military commanders, corrupt business leaders working in collusion with government - you get the picture. The very same thing we're living through RIGHT NOW, could be ripped from a hollywood movie/series.

It's completely ruined anything in the last 10 years for me.

4
GastonP1000 4 points ago +4 / -0

To be fair the Mandalorian is pretty good, but yeah most everything is crap nowadays.

2
Beat_it_Commie 2 points ago +2 / -0

If that show came to another platform, I'd certainly give it a watch. I guess there is sailing the high seas too. "DisneyWars" as a whole has been ruined for me, with the exception of Rogue One. I had to force myself to watch TROS and only so I could say I finished the shit trilogy lol.

But, my comment was a generalization, as you can always find some shiny nuggets in the pile of garbage

40
Virginia_Dare 40 points ago +40 / -0

Yes, I have literally gone back to the 1940s and 50s for entertainment at this point. Tired of the constant propaganda.

12
Heckles 12 points ago +12 / -0

Have you tried 'What's My Line?' I love that old show.

14
Virginia_Dare 14 points ago +14 / -0

No, but I'll check it out. I'm watching the 1950s Sherlock Holmes tv show. Good stuff!

8
Heckles 8 points ago +8 / -0

Neat, my wife likes Holmes so I'll look into that.

Kinda off topic, because it's a newer show, but we've both been loving this British show called Taskmaster. It's all free on YouTube, and I think it's hilarious.

5
TenScoops 5 points ago +5 / -0

Columbo is a classic to. It was perfect. Miss Peter Falk.

2
Abovethefray 2 points ago +2 / -0

In today's Hollywood, he would be Miss Peter Falk.

2
Abovethefray 2 points ago +2 / -0

Perry Mason has been fun for us... the only new show I enjoy are reruns of The Great British Baking Show.

Must have watched the available seasons 3 times each... it is very genteel and comforting to me somehow.

Maybe because all the people are like civilized humans.... I don't know, but I sure like it.

I have watched several movies from 2000-2015 and they have some messaging but it is totally tolerable. I have a personal collection of every TV show and movie ever made that is worth watching. It went downhill HARD after the Trump election, like seriously hard. They cranked the SJW nonsense up to 11. I can barely watch anything anymore. Which is fine, it's the same for most people. We wait it out and pretend the SJW nonsense doesn't exist.

There are so many awesome old documentaries on youtube (with adblock). I just started one about the Irish coming to America. There are videos from the US archives of the videos they showed soldiers before shipping them off to the war. "Know your Ally" one was on Britain, but the other was on China! It was so weird to see china as our ally before they turned communist.

1
MAGAbility 1 point ago +1 / -0

Except most anime seems like either only fan service and no quality content, and it was made for kids. Don't get me wrong, I love some anime (FMA Brotherhood, Cowboy Bebop, Eden of the East, SAO was not bad for sections), but I get frustrated at the lack of maturity or quality in favor of cartoon boobs.

4
Heckles 4 points ago +4 / -0

Attack on Titan, Fate/Zero, The Promised Neverland are all very very good anime for adults dealing with mature themes. If you haven't seen any of those I'd highly recommend trying them.

Do totally agree with you though, many of them are childish and intended for Japanese youth. Sad that Japanese youth seem more intelligent and mature than many American adults.

1
MAGAbility 1 point ago +1 / -0

I have seen the first season of Attack on Titan. It was a little dramatic/depressing for me but I didn't hate it. I'll check out the others though, thank you!

3
dennis_nedry 3 points ago +3 / -0

It's how the left operate, they take over everything with propaganda, TV shows, video games, books, the media, social media. Then the schools, sports, everything.

How they're doing it, by using sheep and NPC's, i.e people without a meaningful life hopelessly dependent on the government to survive.

How to stop it, make sure everyone does honest work for their money, no welfare checks, and never let the welfare checks be worth more than actual work. Doesn't even have to be meaningful work, just something that keep them busy and gives their life a meaning. They'll be happy, they won't vote left, and they won't have time to spread left propaganda on the internet all day long.

Glad I'm not the only one that noticed the dramatic change in TV. Its literally all social justice and covid 19 now. Its going to get worse the closer we get to Jan 20

7
cynicalman 7 points ago +7 / -0

I glad I still have a dvd collection - watch a lot of John Wayne, Bronson, Bergman, Kurosawa, Eastwood, old BBC - Sherlock Holmes, classic Dr Who. No more money to orgs that hate America. Still watch anime as is it not yet infected by the SJW crap.

More time for reading, working out, going to the range and working on projects. Better quality of life.

I haven't gone out to the movies in this century. Very few are worth watching even after they get shown on free television. Aside from the fact that they are filled with SJW propaganda, they just aren't very good. Same with tv dramas and sitcoms.

only things I've been watching is reruns of Cops, always sunny in philly, the mandalorian, and because I like torturing myself, the walking dead.

5
usernamenottaken 5 points ago +5 / -0

Stopped TWD after Negan got caught. Gimple truly ass fucked the show. I've been watching old series Highlander and Xena.

1
jimmycrack 1 point ago +1 / -0

that's the only reason I kept watching, and why I watch now, Negan had some great parts from the comic that I wanted to see, they played them out great so far, but I ain't touching the other walking dead shows, movies, gonna finish this last season out.

some other great recent shows i've watched are The Boys, and Happy.

never a big fan of highlander or xena, but I'll go on some youtube binges of clips from lost, sopranos, the shield, dexter

5
Freebird 5 points ago +5 / -0

Even shows from the early 2000s have lots of snide references to women being better than men, etc... it was just nothing compared to today.

5
cynicalman 5 points ago +5 / -0

I also have a many of the great courses series - the ones on Tocqueville, The Persian Empire and The Federalist papers are very good. And just nice to learn new things like music, hubble, science, etc.

5
MadMaxUSMC 5 points ago +5 / -0

I’ve starting watching older movies too. You do that and you start to realize how BAD acting is today.

4
RiffFantastic 4 points ago +4 / -0

I'm digging Cobra Kai. If you grew up in the 80s it's a lot of fun to the Karate Kid universe expanded. It's very cheesy, but they poke a lot of fun at the political climate today.

But you're right. Mostly garbage out there.

Yes. I’ve literally walked my whole family out of movie theaters mid-film because the propaganda and debauchery were so revolting. Kind of depressing it’s so hard to find anything entertaining anymore.

When Trump leaves office in 2024 I’m hopeful he’ll start a new media/entertainment company to rival Disney, with news, based pro-American, pro-Christian, and pro-Western ideals, norms, etc.

3
Libertas_Vel_Mors 3 points ago +3 / -0

I tend towards science/history/etc documentaries (actual docos, not the bullshit propagandist/political ones a'la Michael Moore) where once in awhile it might get a touch preachy, but usually not. Old TV shows (there's a few channels in the nosebleed section of Dish that replay them, adapted to HD format). I'll tend to make room for occasional 'reality' shows like Life Below Zero, where the bullshit is either absent or at least kept to a minimum (to Nat'l Geographic's credit, they do keep the preachy bullshit to an absolute minimum on that show, and there's no room for LGBAQDXYZMF horseshit there.)

I will skip total bullshit like Mysteries of the Abandoned, mostly because the dude in drag that occasionally shows up on it has one incredibly irritating-as-fuck falsetto voice.

The wife will get into historical dramas and suchlike (the ones that aren't SJW bullshit. Things like Poldark or Victoria on the local PBS station's Masterpiece timeslot; you do have to be careful what you pick and choose, though. Then again, I thought the first couple seasons of National Geographic's Vikings was kick-ass, so...)

But, all said, you can usually pick-and-choose fairly easily, and pretty much anything on the old Broadcast/local stations is not worth bothering over.

Hijacking this post...Anyone else weirdly love the old USA Network show Burn Notice? It's not a great show, but at the same time it's not not a great show. Hard to explain, but it's an all time favorite of mine. Still very watchable.

Yes! the underlying philosophy of the show is something many here would appreciate too. A CIA spy gets betrayed, and over time realizes how deeply corrupt the intelligence community is. But the whole tone of the show is like you said, 80s B-movie with corny jokes.

2
Pleepleus 2 points ago +2 / -0

I follow some video game and entertainment channels on youtube and even they are lamenting on the crap quality product coming out. In the last decade or 2 quality of film and shows have tanked. Sports has gotten woke over the past few years and almost shut down this year from the coof. Sounds familiar as another tactic used in color revolutions.

2
cynicalman 2 points ago +2 / -0

Been watching classic games shows from the 70's (on prime till my sub runs out). Its amazing how racy they were back then. lol. Password Plus is our current binge.

Japanese media for me, but you can't watch the dubs because the localizers like funimation will insert all of this crap in it.

3
cynicalman 3 points ago +3 / -0

Yes we prefer subs - even with our kids they prefer them. Dubs acting is very whiny.

I notice the same things about 10 years ago, and pretty much stopped watching anything from hollywood at that point. I cut the cord around 12 years ago, and have not watched any TV since then either. Weird, I know.

Your list is good, and there are many more examples, but you might also consider content from other countries. I watch a lot of anime for example, as well as foreign movies. Some of the newer foreign stuff is getting pretty cucked these days, but most of it is still good - and there are decades of foreign content to dive into.

Good luck.

This. I had my lineup of shows every week I used to record and watch religiously. I would check Spotify first thing every Friday to hear new music. Since the election, I've tried watching some shows, but I cannot do it anymore. They are filled with so much bs that I get mad while watching. Music has always been my #1, but even that's changed. I think about these actors/musicians and what they've said politically and I cannot support them. All my free time is now spent browsing TDW. Better to educate myself than let my brain get warped from the trash I used to watch/listen to.

1
jennyfrutex 1 point ago +1 / -0

It is frustrating. I love Stargate SG-1 too!

There are some really great old Westerns, too. Shows like Bonanza and The Rifleman. Men acted like men, treated women with respect, and fought against evil.

I've also been enjoying rewatching the oldest episodes of Unsolved Mysteries. Robert Stack was such a great host. I could have listened to him read the phone book and it probably still would have creeped me out.

Eventually I began to see the Satanism and anti-God, anti-family, anti-human subliminal messages in the "iconic" franchises.

Rigged to begin with.

Compare any of them to Shakespeare. Yuck.

It's really kind of pathetic how dumbed down our "entertainment" has become.

Bread and circus.

We mostly watch movies from the 40's and 50's.... not as much over propaganda and thought control as the stuff now. Gotta cut cable.... but I'm old. Trying to understand Pluto and roku stuff, but it's a slog.
