Except most anime seems like either only fan service and no quality content, and it was made for kids. Don't get me wrong, I love some anime (FMA Brotherhood, Cowboy Bebop, Eden of the East, SAO was not bad for sections), but I get frustrated at the lack of maturity or quality in favor of cartoon boobs.
Attack on Titan, Fate/Zero, The Promised Neverland are all very very good anime for adults dealing with mature themes. If you haven't seen any of those I'd highly recommend trying them.
Do totally agree with you though, many of them are childish and intended for Japanese youth. Sad that Japanese youth seem more intelligent and mature than many American adults.
I have seen the first season of Attack on Titan. It was a little dramatic/depressing for me but I didn't hate it. I'll check out the others though, thank you!
Yeah, can't stand anything out of Hollywood any more. I do enjoy anime though, it's still ok to be sexually attracted to women in Japan.
