If the Constitution does not hold sway over whatever partisan state election officials, judges, or Attorneys General decide to do, then it's worthless.
We become a nation of fiat, not laws, and directives for behavior will be decided by the ever-changing whims of whatever bureaucrat is able to seize power, through whatever means they can. "Legal vs Illegal" becomes meaningless, because the laws themselves from which legality is derived become meaningless.
Why abide by something that is meaningless? The laws are changed by a handful of corrupt individuals whenever they want. Legislature is purposeless. The laws any legislative body passes can be overridden for any ginned-up reason: health scare, intelligence scare, military scare, you name it.
Chaos is the result. And it's what groups like the Open Society and international banking cartels, AND the supernatural powers above them want.
