Carter's gonna need to update his lawsuit to reference this decision.

All I want next Christmas is all these shady swamp pieces of garbage bankrupt with all of their prison wages from making license plates going to those they've harmed.

....and every few days their nutsacks get randomly tazered.

29
redstampede 29 points ago +29 / -0

I would love to see the entire swamp drained and its assets used to compensate the people they put out of business this year.

Flynn will have a harder time because of the pardon, which is why letting the Judicial system act correctly would have been the best option, but I think something will work out for Flynn.

12
Ganath 12 points ago +12 / -0

His legal bill might have a difference of opinion with that.

4
MaverickRobot 4 points ago +5 / -1

Again, the pardon and not having the court having admitted wrongdoing is the potential issue.

6
Labaladeplata 6 points ago +6 / -0

Sullivan made himself a party to the case. Also no one can find any instance of a case not being dismissed when the prosecution asks. I don't think the pardon changes anything in that regard. Of course I'm not a lawyer either. Having said that, I think Flynn has bigger things he is thinking about.

5
Ganath 5 points ago +5 / -0

The whole fisa abuse thing may be able to negate that. The records of the interrogations and all that won’t help the fbi’s standing.

4
JesusisKing 4 points ago +4 / -0

Damn that’s super sad

36
richmomz 36 points ago +36 / -0

Just like that guy Mueller tried to pin the 9/11 anthrax attacks on 15-20 years ago - he sued the FBI for millions and won.

12
nixienormus 12 points ago +12 / -0

Say goodbye to all that book money!

1
NostalgicFuturist 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yeah, Mueller has always been an asshat to the FBI.

1
tokenninja 1 point ago +1 / -0

😂 not it doesn’t! Last I checked carter page was a white guy.

The case involved FBI agents who retaliated against Muslim-Americans and green-card holders who followed the dictates of their faith and refused to cooperate with the FBI by spying on their own communities.

SCOPE? Because this opens the door of liability for the covid restrictions as well if written broadly enough.

Imagine a lawsuit against California for the lockdown when Newsome's hospitality interests stayed open.

52
richmomz 52 points ago +52 / -0

Bottom line is that government agencies and big corporate entities have WAY too much legal immunity and it needs to stop.

28
kag-2020- 28 points ago +28 / -0

Exactly. That is the core of the swamps power. They use the government to unleash hell on their victims and the best their victims can hope for is to eventually wrestle free from their tyranny. Until these thugs have real consequences, things will get worse.

117
jgardner 117 points ago +118 / -1

this is huge

You can now sue your governor as an individual for shutting down your business and church.

34
Bronski 34 points ago +34 / -0

Might that extend to a wrongful death lawsuit?

Asking for NY and CA frens.

30

15
Vegans4Trump 15 points ago +15 / -0

Unfortunately this is for federal agents only

12
jgardner 12 points ago +12 / -0

Where goes the goose goes the gander

6
Meddlesom 6 points ago +6 / -0

Only if you can find a judge that won't dismiss the case immediately. Good luck. It has never been more obvious that Democrats are untouchable and that they will never face justice in any court.

3
jgardner 3 points ago +3 / -0

Let's exhaust it all. The Founding Fathers bent over backwards to petition the king. We will bend until we can bend no longer.

Trump will be president. We will not bend for Biden.

He should be given Gorillions in damages. Just start writing a one followed by zeros on a check for a few minutes and hand it over.

68
Visceroth 68 points ago +68 / -0

Would that include being harmed in a "gun free zone" vs shall not be infringed?

20
kag-2020- 20 points ago +20 / -0

Or being caught up in drag net searches vs being secure from unreasonable searches and seizures.

8

I would think so.

Mehocmehogan 40 points ago +41 / -1

Muslims shouldn't even be in America. Fucking disgrace (the Muslims, not this ruling).

9
Starscream 9 points ago +10 / -1

Agree, but this will give us a tool to fight back. After Trump wins, we need to keep the momentum up. Recall and sue all these tyrant mayors and governors. I think social media made them think they had more support than they did and they overplayed their hand.

8
DebunkTheLeft 8 points ago +8 / -0

Yes, this ruling should've been made after Ruby Ridge. Almost 30 years late.

14
RONIN808 14 points ago +14 / -0

does this include local and state government agents or just federal? LOTTA mask fines going around lately by local PD and forced business closures.....

10
kag-2020- 10 points ago +10 / -0

Considering the 14th Amendment explicitly prevents them from doing that, it should cover them as well. All of them are government agents.

5
ShrikeDeCil 5 points ago +5 / -0

If it doesn't do it directly, it does do it indirectly when someone tries to argue the point.

IOW: At some point a case of a state agent doing something similar gets to the Supremes and the basic question is going to be "Why would we let a state agent have more immunity than a Fed?!?"

2
NotProgCensored 2 points ago +2 / -0

Local, State and Federal.

8
Vegans4Trump 8 points ago +8 / -0

Finally, Muslims do something good for the rest of America. Thanks!

13
Dtom13 13 points ago +13 / -0

"The case involved FBI agents who retaliated against Muslim-Americans and green-card holders who followed the dictates of their faith and refused to cooperate with the FBI by spying on their own communities."

I wouldn't comply with the FBI on that either. Betray my own community or help the FBI? Fuck them. If I see a terrorist plot I'd report it but I'm not spying on my neighbors.

1
befehlistbefehl 1 point ago +1 / -0

If I see a terrorist plot I'd report it

If you reported that the FBI would be more likely to encourage the would be plotters to carry out an attack than to try to stop them.

Can I sue the governor of Minnesota for the lockdowns?

6
ShrikeDeCil 6 points ago +6 / -0

Give it a whirl seems to be the answer.

7
Dtom13 7 points ago +7 / -0

As divided as we are as a nation, it makes me smile when a decision is made that the vast majority of people can agree with.

Conservatives will like this, liberals will like this, civil libertarians will like this, victims of federal overreach will like this, people who complain about the government targeting political, racial, or religious minorities will like this.

7
ApexPredator 7 points ago +7 / -0

Federal employees only was my understanding? So I can't sue Newsom BUT I'd love to sue the shit outta Diane Feinstein.

3
NotProgCensored 3 points ago +3 / -0

You can still read the link.

"According to the Court, “in the context of suits against Government officials, damages have long been awarded as appropriate relief.” And that has been true not only for state and local officials, but also federal officials, like those employed by the FBI."

6
kfunny91 6 points ago +6 / -0

Can I sue Governor Phil Murphy?

6
Anon331717 6 points ago +6 / -0
