So we are still waiting to hear if SCOTUS will hear the Texas case. What if they don't answer until Monday? That's when the electoral college is supposed to vote. Can they pause the electoral college from voting? Or can they vote, but have their votes overturned? How does this work if we have pending litigation?

Theoretically they could wait to issue a ruling until just before Congress is set to read and accept the electors' votes and simply invalidate the electors from the defendant states.

I doubt they will do this though. That is extreme.
