Rule of thumb: if it is much cheaper than known quality products, it is chinesium. Confirm by looking at pictures and reading descriptions and you can tell pretty easily. If still unsure search for the brand online. If you can’t find a website then it is a shitty pop-up brand that is stamping its name on crap products until their reputation catches up with them and they have to start again. If you see a bunch of no name brands selling the same crap, it’s either the same people flooding the market or different people buying from the same shitty manufacturer and putting their name on it.
Broader rule: out of cheap, fast, and quality, you can only pick two. If you need high quality right now, it will be expensive. If you want cheap and fast, it’s gonna be poor quality. If you want cheap and quality, you’ll have to wait.
Example: Amazon scopes that have a 4x optic and a red dot on top and a laser mounted to the side and only cost $100. Well, a decent 4x optic alone is going to be AT LEAST double that, and that would be cheap. A decent micro reflex is at least $200 as well. Tack on another 1-300 for an OK red laser. So they are getting you AT LEAST $600 worth of stuff if you bought decent quality and it only costs $100. It’s obviously gonna be unreliable garbage. If you’re very lucky, it will work OK. If you’re unlucky, you’ll get a dud and wish you just put that $100 towards a nice optic. Most likely (and also the worst possibility) it will work OK until it decides to shit the bed. Hopefully you aren’t in a firefight without your BUIS when that happens!
TLDR: stuck to known quality brands, research any unknown company beforehand, don’t get tricked by stuff that is too good to be true that makes you want to believe.
