This amazes me. For the life of me I don't understand why this has been their policy. Why not let the American people see what goes on? I'm not saying let everyone in, but why not have some cameras filming so we can watch what's happening ourselves?
I think it also keeps a healthy barrier between them and the general public. The last thing you want is the SCOTUS judges subjected to the court of public opinion.
In poker the most important thing about a person is figuring out their tells. Words and opinions are cheap for preparation and the logs are all there for that.
What's really powerful is being able to tell when a Judge is unhappy with your line of questioning and knowing when to switch it up.
Studying their tells nets so much more power than even past rulings could allow because you can use them DURING the hearing rather than for prep before.
Still think its moot. When cases get to the SCOTUS it's all about precedent and whether justices believe in letter of the law or spirit of the law. No matter how you spin it can't change the constitution and if you should interpret it literally or broadly.
Poker the hands change and are unknown court cases the evidence is known before it gets to the SCOTUS you dont add new evidence at that level.
There's Ruth sleeping!
I came here to say this same thing. Great minds think alike. Or demented minds.
How long do you have to be there before they give you a big chair?

If you know how the judges think and act, you can study them and learn how to manipulate them.
It's best little to nothing is known about their actions on the bench, for everyone's sake.

This argument seems moot. We know exactly how they rule with their opinions.

Did not think of that well said

Sorry for the downvote. Just trying to get your comment to the bottom. ;-)
Wow, that is actually wild. Just taken today when court was in session!!
This is absolutely historic. Hope this video is still around when it's time to tell this story to my grandkids!
Great video. Thank you.
As soon as I saw the reaction, I knew what the video was. Lol
Same.
On a serious note itβs all over the internet if you search it.
They are the puppet masters
Not bad considering cameras were probably the size of an old school incandescent lite-brite back then
Why the fuck did I read that "a young man" and "1937 Germany"... Something's very wrong with me, time to unplug, perhaps.
