I’m looking to buy a Bible because i’ve never read it cover to cover. I was raised in the faith, though i went astray for a long time; and it feels like something I absolutely need to do.
Christian pedes: any advice on what version of the Bible to get/not get? I’ve got my eye on the Founder’s Bible at the moment. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
The New King James is my current favorite. I've read Greek interlinear transliterations, old King James, New American Standard, and New International Version. The NKJV just cuts to the heart and retains a lot of very pithy, poetic type phrasing. Some of the others are too dry and wordy and don't set up the authors' juxtaposition of 2 ideas (a common literary device in the Bible) as effectively.
