I guess I need to educate my states GOP party members. Texas is the only state that can legally secede for the United States. When they were negotiating with the US to join the union Texas maintained a decree in the United States - Texas that allowed Texas to leave the union at any time they wanted (some notification is required). Texas was able to keep this because it came into the union as it’s own country, The Republic of Texas. No other state has the right to secede.
