Our ability to organize is almost entirely based on social media, which is clearly compromised. Even if we can organize, our people aren't allowed to defend ourselves without repercussions while the other side can burn down our nation's cities without any repercussions. I agree, I wish there were more Chinese voices on the internet. I've gotten into heated debates with friends and strangers on Facebook, wechat (chinese whatsapp), and twitter but it's a lonely fight. I've also lost a 10+ year friendship because my best friend (been through everything together, family drama, weddings, deaths in families, breakups etc) caught TDS and doesn't want to hear me talk.
Conversations always follow the same formula: I present the facts, they reject the facts, or worse, call me a racist, uneducated, a traitor, white supremacist, a Caucasian wannabe...etc. Funny how leftists always argue the same way regardless of nationality.
But I understand why there are so few of us. For those of us with family in China, there's always the risk of our family members "disappearing" if we post or say anything anti-ccp. We always have to filter ourselves online. I know someone who has lost a brother (disappeared at an airport???). You think Twitter and fb is bad? Oh, it's all over the place. Depends on what you want to be able to do.
You can start easily with a technician class license, allowing you to use the VHF/UHF frequencies, usually FM. There are "handie talkies" (HTs) that sell for less than $50 that actually work reasonably well (Baofeng UV-5R). You can get better rigs of course, in the $150 - $250 range gets you some very good HTs (like the Yaesu FT-70D).
You can also get mobile rigs, for your car, that have very good performance. Those range all over, from around $100 to $3-400, plus about another $100 for an antenna. These run about 50 watts transmit power, and the vehicle-mounted antenna works much better than the little one on an HT.
This gets you into at least regional communication, from a few miles to 30-50 miles via repeaters.
That's a good start anyway. It does require a license, but they're not too hard to study for with some effort.
The next license, General, gets you onto about all of the ham bands in common use, any mode. A decent do-all HF setup would probably run around $1500 or so, including antenna. You can do it for far less, depending on power and how much you want to build.

Eh, the PLA doesn't really have a deployable amphibious, sea lift or air bridge capability that's going to do anything of note, particularly blue water, and definitely not in brigade size (maybe regiment if they're lucky, but not fully equipped). They definitely don't have the capability to own the battlespace domains required to safely discharge all those troops and support equipment. And that's even with Canada's recent help.
IF, and a big IF, they even thought about doing that, they have to get past several layers of people who already own Patriot PAC-3 systems, AEGIS-equipped destroyer fleets and capable sub fleets, before even getting to the USN (let alone the rest of the US military). The Chinese also tend to have a tip of the spear type approach. They can't / don't really maintain their entire military at the same standard, so if they send their really capable troops off to the US, Taiwan and India (at the least) are suddenly going to have an immediate regional competitive advantage, and the West Philippine Sea is suddenly going to get even more crowded.
The Chinese aren't really that interested in crossing the ocean, though. Their opinion is countries will come and go, their empire is forever. They're willing to wait. Think about pro-abortion states banding together to sue states that restricts abortion on grounds that it violates the constitution. I agree, I wish there were more Chinese voices on the internet. I've gotten into heated debates with friends and strangers on Facebook, wechat (chinese whatsapp), and twitter but it's a lonely fight. What does a good setup cost?
Oh, it's all over the place. Depends on what you want to be able to do.
You can start easily with a technician class license, allowing you to use the VHF/UHF frequencies, usually FM. There are "handie talkies" (HTs) that sell for less than $50 that actually work reasonably well (Baofeng UV-5R). You can get better rigs of course, in the $150 - $250 range gets you some very good HTs (like the Yaesu FT-70D).
You can also get mobile rigs, for your car, that have very good performance. Those range all over, from around $100 to $3-400, plus about another $100 for an antenna. These run about 50 watts transmit power, and the vehicle-mounted antenna works much better than the little one on an HT.
This gets you into at least regional communication, from a few miles to 30-50 miles via repeaters.
That's a good start anyway. It does require a license, but they're not too hard to study for with some effort.
The next license, General, gets you onto about all of the ham bands in common use, any mode. A decent do-all HF setup would probably run around $1500 or so, including antenna. You can do it for far less, depending on power and how much you want to build.

Eh, the PLA doesn't really have a deployable amphibious, sea lift or air bridge capability that's going to do anything of note, particularly blue water, and definitely not in brigade size (maybe regiment if they're lucky, but not fully equipped). They definitely don't have the capability to own the battlespace domains required to safely discharge all those troops and support equipment. And that's even with Canada's recent help.
IF, and a big IF, they even thought about doing that, they have to get past several layers of people who already own Patriot PAC-3 systems, AEGIS-equipped destroyer fleets and capable sub fleets, before even getting to the USN (let alone the rest of the US military). This Texas case came out of nowhere this week and was a nice bonus but I don't think the Trump team ever relied on it to be their pathway to victory.
