My Sunday Gunday closet is bare.
I can't make it to DC this weekend so I'm going to do the 2nd best thing and support the 2nd amendment (if that's still allowed) I'll pass a background check and I am not purchasing a hand gun (I know some areas require a 2nd permit to purchase those).

I need suggestions of favorite shotguns for home defense or rifles with no focus on hunting. Just target practice at the range.

What i should be looking for in a purchase? Accessories, amount of ammo i should have stocked up, ect. I haven't set aside a specific budget for this but I don't want to buy the highest price models. Let's say I want to stay under $5k. Is there a good reference or area I should read up on prior to going to the gun store?

AR chambered for 5.56 so you can shoot both 5.56 and .223. At this point in time you’re going to want to get an unpopular size side arm only because finding ammunition for anything which is popular will be weeks maybe even months out. Get a shot gun for breaching, shells are available. Once you have these three firearms spend almost the rest of that 5k on ammunition, plate carrier and comms.
