Pedes, please read:

Look. this situation is less than ideal. We haven't crossed the Rubicon but we're standing at the waterfront. I'm not a doomer, and i'm also not blind. I'm a realist, and I am cautiously optimistic and believe that Trump and his team has a plan (btw Rudy just said this was certainly a situation they could find themselves in but have other options to explore). We can still come out of this on top. It is my prayer that God Almighty would be merciful on our nation and keep us united, yet His will be done.

And with that said, EVERYONE should be seriously thinking about their own contingency plans to keep you, and your family safe. I imagine there are some dark times ahead.

I am a veteran, a newly minted father of a beautiful baby girl, and proud to stand firm with a loving, and God-fearing wife. This situation is about as real as it gets for me, and it's because I have skin in the game that is motivating me to write this. I hope that others in likewise situations will read and consider these things like I have.

As I said in the title, the most important thing is you need to have a plan. We can 'rah 'rah with the best of them, but there are a few things you should do now while you are able that can mean the difference of weathering this storm or succumbing to it. This isn't everything but should be enough to get you started and get you by:

  • First and foremost: Pray. Second Chronicles 7:14 "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." God in his graciousness provided a way out for the Israelites, and the Lord who is forever unchanging has provided the blueprints for the United States. Repent, trust in Jesus.

  • Second. Have a conversation with your family, friends, or those most closest to you. Speak with anyone close who will listen and understand. I strongly recommend you have a serious conversation about what is going on and what options there are that pertain to your situation. Discuss what to do if x, y, z, happens, where to go if you get separated, how to communicate. Ask yourself what do you need and how will you get what you need. Do your best to agree on a way forward BEFORE things fall through.

  • Thrid. With the above in mind, you should stockpile what you need, but be smart. this goes for guns, ammo, food, TP, whatever. Think about your plan and what you intend to do. if your plan is to camp and stay put, you're going to need more than you think, if your plan is to be mobile, you don't need to waste your time on resources you can't take with you.

Too many people on here think that if they just buy 100,000 rounds of ammunition and more guns they'll be all set. It's fun and games to build a collection and i 100% support that, but 100,000 rounds of ammunition is going to be useless if you don't have anything to put it in, or any realistic way to store it, or take it with you. it takes time to load out and when you're out you're out. This isn't COD, so BE SMART about it. You should obtain what you need, but know the difference between being smartly prepared, and being an overzealous gear queer.

  • Fourth. Train. Train your body. Train your mind. Get in shape, eat right, learn skills that will help in the days ahead and practice them. Do this now while you reasonably can.

  • Fifth. Lay the groundwork to develop a support system. establish who and where you can turn to if you need to.

  • Lastly. Stay informed, but make a concerted effort to cut out the noise. I come to this site because it's the only place that gets me the news before it drops so kudos to the mods, and as we grow this shills and disinformation campaign comes with it. you MUST TRUST, BUT VERIFY. Information is power. so be empowered with the right and accurate kind pedes

The oath I took to uphold the Constitution still remains true, even if the parties in power today don't believe it. We don't know what lies ahead necessarily but doing these few small things can make a huge difference later on. God bless, and God remember your people. Have mercy on our country, spoil the plans of the wicked and let Truth reign. In Jesus name amen

Thank you for this. It is very helpful when I sit down to have a talk with my “nothing is going to happen” husband. Something may not happen, but odds are likely something will. I want to be ready

It’s like I told my husband, if nothing happens we don’t have to buy toilet paper and lots and lots of dry goods and water for quite awhile. If you got pets be sure to put up for them also.

me to, but I worry about the unprepared, cause we well need all the people that believe in the constitution, that we swore to protect, and if memory serves me there wasn't an ending date on that oath, only my service discharge date

I own 40,000 rounds of ammo, I can't transport it. I make my stand on my land.

my point being was that 40,000 rounds doesn't do anyone any good sitting in a box, that takes time to load my friend. Just encouraging you to do what you need to do to be prepared to make that stand.

Have a few mags loaded and have someone not shooting loading the other thirty mags while your shooting, in my case we'll gave ammo runners, loaders water people mess-halls, coms and support, our logistics well be OK, but 40,000 rounds seem like a lot for us marine, one shot one kill, the army has always been spray and pray you hit something, LOL

Great post. Also think about comms without cell phones.. Ham radio to broadcast if so inclined or just a short wave radio. How will you get information without any internet or cell phone?

Also how to cook without electricity. Get that dehydrator humming and make jerky. I agree about being mobile , finding areas that you can escape to.

Things always missed in situations. Getting 90 day supplies of any meds you really need. Always have a full tank of gas in every vehicle and perhaps a little in a container. rope, tarps etc just start to put things like that and tools if you haven't already in your car/suv/truck. Just have some things already packed ready to go. If you got to run it shouldn't take a long time to leave.

It is winter so keeping extra blankets and the like in the car isn't a bad thing either (if you ever get stranded or need to crash somewhere).

Also making sure your car is situated as well.
