How to get it to SCOTUS (in a timely manner no less) is a question I feel like is being brushed off too easily here. Texas obviously had no where else to go, but even if Trumps team ctrl+C the whole lawsuit what guarantee that it doesn't go to a lower or each individual states court? (I genuinely don't know these kinds of proceedings, I just feel like this is kinda a crucial cog in the machine)
