I do remember all that was done to derail Trump's diplomacy efforts, and totally agree with you. He should (and most likely will) plan for the event of Biden taking office and do as much as he can to prevent his administration from interacting with China in a way that would benefit China.
The best way to do that is to start an international crisis on China’s borders. Put the democrats on the defensive. In order to deescalate, they’ll have to kow tow to china, which will play to our advantage in propaganda / messaging.
