These people get appointed to their positions because we assume they are courageous, extraordinary people. They failed. Even if their lives were threatened by the Commies in our Gov't, they failed. In 1775, there were more farmers and shop owners that laid more on the line than these cucks did. Too many of those farmers paid the ultimate price fro their bravery and won our freedon, in doing so. These people just ensured their invitation to Joe Biden's Inauguration Ceremony.

I believe so, yes. I still don't see how that favors them because Demonrats may end up increasing the number of justices which makes them less relevant.

But they have lifetime appointments, so their perspective may be different and long term, or maybe they don't give crap at this point. It is easier to avoid touchy stuff rather than be responsible for the violent left reacting to their judgement in favor of Trump.

Or it could just be what some of the people are saying, they are given some high level instructions from the establishment people who helped them rise up the ranks and backed them.

In any case, it seems sad. I just wish I knew more about the law to understand their perspective rather than going of emotion (which I am doing at the moment).

It favors them personally. They will still have their positions and nice pay checks and pay offs as long as they tow the line, no matter how many judges are appointed to SCOTUS. Most people seem to prefer the semblance of law and order to the real thing.

SCOTUS does not operate in a vacuum and they acted on simple game theory. They have been primed for months to expect guaranteed, widespread violence (Antifa, BLM) if they sided with Texas (and others). They know that there was, at least a chance, that Trump supporters would remain peaceful and eventually accept the result because we have been non-violent so far. We'll have to wait and see what happens in DC this weekend but I expect a few scuffles and more of the same from our side trying to maintain the moral high ground when the real fight has been down in the gutter for years.

As far as high level instructions, I doubt that was even necessary, at this point. I think those instructions were understood as a prerequisite for getting the position in the first place.

What I do know is that there are untold numbers of simple farmers that left their fields and took up arms to fight for their freedom. In doing so, many made the ultimate sacrifice to ensure our freedom. The Supreme Court Justices showed that they are not cut from that same cloth and are beneath contempt for it right now.

There can no longer be trust in free and fair elections or the legal system. Legislatures and legislators are weak and feckless in the face of rampant corruption from the left. Courts are corrupt. In fact everyone right down to the vote counters themselves are corrupt. Call me a doomer if you want but it looks like it is up to Trump, a handful of close supporters, his legal team and we the people to sort this out. I'm not confident in the military at this point but who knows, maybe they will help to save the day.
