As times get tough, sometimes you may prefer to be anonymous.
Its quite easy nowadays. All you have to do is download the tor browser from here: https://www.torproject.org/
Then you can access this website as well as others, including the dark web, anonymously.
Some important things to know:
-
Don't ever sign into the same account that you do on your regular computer. If you want to post here using tor, make a separate account for only tor use. The reason is that obviously your username is linked with your computer's IP.
-
Don't sign into any personal banking or email over tor. The end points that access the web aren't hosted by friendly people, and so don't do any personal web stuff
-
Don't do any web searches through tor of your town or other personally identifying keywords, obviously it defeats the purpose of it
This will give you pretty mild protection, obviously if you're using a windows machine there are limits to it. For example, windows could log and scan what you type and look for keywords and stuff.
This is good firstly for browsing news, forums, etc, secondly for posting non-personal stuff as well as communication with internet people.
That's good advice. You can run the tor browser on Linux, though Microsoft sits on their board now. You can also run a vpn over tors.
You really have to be running a privacy centric Linux distro like Tails to insulate yourself sadly. Windows will snitch on you by sending unique advertising IDs for your install and all manner of other bullshit like that.
