It WAS a cop out.

When you are appointed for life, have absolute discretion over what cases you will and will not hear, and your decision is final, any excuse will do, whether it makes sense or not.

There was harm, but not I think in the way the supreme court is looking for. Even Alito and Thomas are saying they would not grant relief, though the case was in their original jurisdiction. Let Trump's team get a case up where there is standing, where citizens were directly harmed by their own state (citizen v state, not state v state). Then, I believe they will see the standing they're looking for. In either case, now is not the time for dooming. Yeesh, faithless. Most everyone was so gung-ho over ACB, and now even Thomas and Alito are getting hate? Faithless. What the hell is going on with people?

Their priority is in maintaining the rule of law, meaning gov't that obeys rules placed upon it, meaning the constitution. If they abandon that as well, the country IS screwed. We have a strict constitutional majority. They do not choose who is harmed and who is not. They do not make any decision they want. They go by what the constitution allows them, and in this case the standing was not enough to warrant taking the case. How strongly you feel about it doesn't change that. Trump's actual team (Sidney included) is still rolling along. This case came out a week ago and went nowhere, and you're ready to throw in the towel? Go to sleep. Take a nap. Look at where we've been, what we've done, and what things are still rolling along. This case was superhyped as a silver bullet. The ONE THING that can win the day, though it was not. Now that it's failed it makes sense that you're feeling doomy. Now is the time to recover, focus on what Trump's team continues to do in spite of your defeatist attitude.

I agree. It would have been a great silver bullet, but we had big things riding before, and they are still there. This court case came in, what earlier this week? And now it's gone nowhere. So what. We still have big fish to fry, and now is not the time to give up and roll over. Now is the time to pull the wool from our eyes and MAGA. We have not lost. Trump's team has not given up and has not been defeated. They weren't a part of the TX case.

It is in the supreme court's original jurisdiction. I am willing to accept that Alito and Thomas, who are stalwart constitutionalists know what they are doing in agreeing with the no standing decision. Standing means, among other things, there needs to be direct injury. The state of TX was not directly injured, though the people were. We still have big things rolling that have been building momentum since before this case came out a week ago. Now is not the time to give up on what Trump's Team is actually doing. When those cases make the SCOTUS, there will be different standing, and merit to boot.

I don't get how people are turning on Alito and Thomas of all people over this. This case really makes me wonder if it was planned, though Ken Paxton seems legitimate on the surface. That is something worth looking into if you're feeling doomy.

Anyway, you should continue to trust Flynn.

Was it a planned distraction?

I don't know if it was. But this is very curious. The case came out of nowhere, got everybody talking about it, and then it went nowhere. It crashed. And now everybody is dooming. That makes me suspicious. Intentional or no, it has resulted in a major distraction.
