Populism is bottom-up and messy. By definition it involves a lot people from all walks of life with varying degrees of intelligence and information. After decades of systematic brainwashing and demoralization, we have very little patience for doubt, cynicism, or in-fighting.
The first step to victory is believing that you can win. You take whatever you can from every battle, win or lose, and move on to the next. Don't declare a battle lost before it's even over. Sometimes the goal of the battle is not even what it appears to be.
For example: the "political theater" you're casually dismissing provided invaluable intelligence about the current battle-space. It has already led to multiple breaking stories, like the corruption in Iowa. It served to underline that the battle is still ongoing. It was a rallying cry to energize the Trump base. It put pressure on SCOTUS.
None of that is negative - it's all good. That's the point. Focus on the positive, reserve the negative for your opponent. This battle is as much spiritual as it is intellectual.
It's important to understand that the mods here, and this movement in general, is under constant assault. Our opponents are insidious and trigger-fingers get itchy.
Imagine rescuing a family that's endured horrible abuse for decades in some dank torture dungeon. You raise your voice (to a normal level) or raise your hand (to point out something) and they instinctively recoil in fear. You would probably be confused, after-all, you would never hurt them.
America is a bit like that right now. We've been abused for decades and we're waking up en masse to the realization that there is some consortium of evil fuckers have been torturing us and killing us for their own sick amusement.
The only thing that really matters after that is stopping the horror, stopping the abuse from continuing or happening to anyone else.
Here's an idea... I too have been critical on ideas, but there is a way of conveying ideas without being a buzzkill... ingratiating yourself first helps a ton. Maybe don't kick the doors in and declare everyone morons for not believing your code especially when the top 1-3 rules are high energy and Trump supporters and the unwritten rule of no dooming. I've see flaws in the structure of this place, but that's more of a personal bias against Reddit style forums. I'm old school.
