Taking the case would've federally bound state legislatures to abide by their state laws when selecting their electors, removing their Constitutional authority to pick their own electors in the case of a stolen state election.
Don't think it would do that, because the Constitution specifically states to elect them "as the legislature may direct". That was the argument, anyway, so that only the Governors and state courts would be bound to follow the state laws.
