Sorry for the length. Given the information that has come out of the hearings and testimony so far, it is clear that the current election process needs reform and modernization. I'm sure there are a lot of ideas on how that has been done, but the few things I have seen mentioned by legislatures are half efforts at best.

  1. All elections must require in person, state issued ID and fingerprint verification (like they do at some international airports or on smart phones), restricted to the primary residence associated with the state issued ID.

The argument is that requiring in person voting disenfranchises voters.
-The truth is mass absentee voting with no ID requirements invites fraud for whomever can get a hold of an absentee ballot. There are no guarantees that the intended recipient of the ballot receives the ballot, votes and is returned with their choices. There is no chain of custody. This disenfranchises real voters. If soldiers can go to war to fight for our freedoms, voters can show-up in person on election day.
-This would also eliminate ballot harvesting at nursing homes and care facilities. My great grandmother was a victim of this many years ago when she wanted to vote for someone other than the Democrat candidate. They argued with her and left without completing the ballot. It was also the last time she ever voted.

  1. The federal primary and election day should be a holiday. I take the day off every year to avoid getting stuck at work or being sent out of town for work.

  2. States should set a primary and election day holiday for their state. Off cycle elections are often used to pass policy decisions (usually tax increases) hoping for low voter turnout. Standardizing these days would eliminate the games that are played.

  3. Election precincts should be required to live stream, in high quality so anyone can observe an election.

  4. Ballot tabulations can no longer be done in back rooms with only a couple people. These should be done in plain site with a requirement for high quality video stream above the table so anyone can observe and clearly count the ballots.

  5. Election results should be provided as they are tabulated. Instead of widely inaccurate exit polls, we should have the same kind of analysis, graphs and tracking that has been put together retrospectively for this election.

  6. When the polls close, they close. The last person in line is allowed to vote and the final batch is counted. Yearly attempts to extend the polls should only be done by States, statewide for state offices and by Federal for federal elections.

  7. Federal, State and Local Ballots should be separate.

  8. Intimidation, misconduct, electioneering, providing anything but pens, at the polls must have consequences. That means the ability to call in state officials and federal if a site is engaged in the conduct we saw reported in Detroit, who have the authority to remove election officials.

  9. Overvotes. If you cannot fill out a bubble correctly, nobody should be allowed to guess at your intent. That vote should not be counted for any candidate.

  10. Ballots should be required to be kept for 10 years.

  11. After the election and before finalizing. All votes should be recounted by different personnel to ensure the results are accurate. This should also be live streamed to ensure transparency rather than election officials using one count or the other to go home.

I'm sure there are other ideas and improvements that could be made.

That said, I don't have any expectation that any of these or other ideas to correct the election process will be enacted. Unless there is a mass, sustained protest at the county and state capitals involved with this fraudulent election, demanding not only election reforms followed by a revote, but also demanding the current elected state government resign, there will be no pressure for anyone to take action beyond hearings and sound bites.

Unless you are willing to take back the republic and cut away its systemic corruption. These things will never come to pass.
