I’m 36, I’ve been in your shoes before. It’s important to have a goal. Start small, I’m talking about getting up, clean your place. Do things like that to develop a sense of accomplishment. Start creating a bigger goals but attainable. Maybe next step is you polish your resume or reach out to a friend or family member for a Jon contact. Keep the goal in front of you and increase those goals over time.

Start with the gym. Every time you don't feel like going - go. The less you want to, the more you need to. Once you do this consistently, everything else will fall into place.

Gotta find something that you can TOLERATE to make money. Then find hobbies and use those to motivate you. I also strongly recommend against using a girl as your motivation. Use something stable and constructive.

I'm assuming you're male.
There's a deeply engrained need for men to provide for themselves, their family, etc. The "nuclear family" if you will. This is not some crackpot theory. You can see the evidence everywhere around you. Think of it this way. You fed laziness with laziness, you can do the same with a strong work ethos. The choice is up to you. No one else.

First of all, get your sleep habits in order. None of these 5 hour sleep nights. Get a full eight hours in. Take a once a day vitamin with your breakfast in the morning and every single night before you go to bed (this is the most important)...MAKE A LIST for what you want to accomplish the next day. This may not seem like much, but it is something tangible to remind you of your responsibilities. You don't have to do the list in any order, but as you perform each task, check it off. This way you can see your actual progress.

In short, take care of your health and MAKE LISTS!!!

I also struggle with this a lot. Here are the things that help me to be more productive

  1. Spiritual health -Pray and ask for God's help in this area. The desire to please God is a powerful force that can help give us the motivation to overcome things like this.

2.Good sleep -When I have a good sleep schedule and am getting good sleep I feel more restful and have more energy -In order to accomplish this, invest in a nice mattress and pillow. I love my Tuft and Needle mattress from Amazon, but I've also heard amazing things from the purple mattress. I just got a MyPillow and I love it! Also, invest in nice sheets and bedding -Keep electronics out of your room as much as possible and try reading before bed (real books or kindles are best for your eyes) Red light filters also help a lot

  1. Drink lots of water -Being dehydrated makes me feel so sluggish and yucky. I can always tell when I haven't been drinking enough water

  2. Eat well -Doesn't mean eat perfectly, but try to eat more whole foods and limit the amount of processed foods and sugar. As long as I'm eating 80% whole and only 20% other, I feel pretty good. (Obviously, the cleaner the better, but I don't think life is worth living without having ice cream occasionally lol)

  3. Exercise -At first it's hard and it may make you feel more tired, but after a few weeks you will start to feel so much better, and have a lot more energy. -Start slow!!! It's not worth it to work out like a crazy person and then be unable to move for the next 3 days. This will be so demoralizing. -Pick exercise that you actually enjoy! This will make you more likely to do it.

  4. Routine -This is one of the hardest for me, but it's a big one. Having a routine makes doing all of the above things so much easier. You don't have to waste mental energy on deciding if you want to exercise or not if you always exercise at 7pm M/W/F. Or if you pray and read/listen to the Bible every morning while you make and eat breakfast. Routines don't have to be crazy or extremely rigid. I prefer a more fluid one. It helps to build new habits around old habits.

I know this is really long, but all of these things have really helped me, and if I find myself slipping into my sloth ways this is where I start to get things back on track. I would also add that feeling sluggish could mean you are deficient in vitamins. Couldn't hurt to add a multi-vitamin and some vitamin D (most ppl are low on vitamin D, and it's so important for our health) Good luck!!!!
