Winning the house and senate in 2016 was overrated. It was still filled with swamp rats like Paul Ryan and McCain. But if those same people remained in 2018 it still would have been 1000x better for Trump than having Dems in control of the House.
Republicans are what they are. They are careerists. The Matt Gaetz and Rand Paul types are very rare.
But republicans are basically our pawns. They played ball with Trump because he made them. He threatened their careers. We can use them to get things we want and prevent Dems from having power.
Just because we win in 2016 doesn’t mean we are free for a day after that. It’s a never ending fight. The fact is the Dems and swamp won the fight every day after Trump’s re-election.
