You're still in extremely close proximity and air will be re-breathed by someone and bodies will touch. If the masks saved which they don't, what happens when the people drink the water they're given? The government had to choose winners and losers and they decided air travel should be exempted with all the tight lines, lengthy time indoors waiting and proximity.

One of my good friends is a pilot for Delta. I trust his knowledge of the planes he flies and it’s filtration system.
