It is very obvious that this decision is more than meets the eye, I don't think it's a coincidence that out of the 5 real conservative justices, only Trump's appointees would fail us, there is something else. Let's be real, these Justices have stood up and defended us at every turn. Even Barrett's first few decisions were right on track with defending religion. THEN suddenly half the people start BASHING THE CRAP OUT OF THEM. We have forgotten all the great things these justices have done. But now people on this site are acting like they are on reddit. "Oh Kavanagh is a rapist! Oh Barrett is a colonizer", WHY ARE PEOPLE ACTING LIKE THIS IS FUCKEN MSM AND JUMPING TOO QUICKLY TO CONCLUSIONS! For now im not turning my back on them since I nor anyone else knows what's going on behind the scenes. BUT if they rule against the other cases where we have the receipts of clear fraud, THEN I'LL CURSE THEIR NAMES.
For the record, I completely disagree with their ruling on Texas.
i feel this was done for a big reason,,, I really think it was done to show that the 3 new judges are not in trumps pocket. I do believe they will step up when it really needed.
meh
We asked for judges who were not "activists" who'd interpret the law based on the text.
Seems like that's what we've got.
fwiw I like Gorsuch, have reservations about how often Kav sides with the govt on 4th Amendment stuff, and totally neutral on ACB
I agree. And it's so gross to use the left's smears against them. I will criticize them on merit not on made up nonsense. Kavanaugh didn't rape anyone and we all know that. ACB is not a colonizer because that isn't a thing.
I also disagree with their Texas ruling, but I'm willing to withhold my judgment until I see how they handle the next few cases. Even seasoned lawyers that are based said the Texas suit was a long shot.
Like I said in other posts, I believe that the judges didnt want to set a wrong precedent concerning state suing another state over their laws or enforcement of their laws. Allowing Texas to sue PA and others, would set a precedent for California to sue other states over environmental or gun issues.
That's a really good point. I'm also thinking that this way if the legislatures decide to send Trump electors instead of Biden electors, other states won't have standing to sue them for it. Ruling on this case could have opened an entire can of worms that could have ended up setting some really dangerous precedent. I'm not saying it wasn't disheartening. I really wanted this whole nightmare to be over and decided, but it's okay. We shall soldier on!
Texas was the big one. That hasty decision was suspicious. Has any court actually allowed Trump's team, or Wood or Powell to submit evidence? Have no knowledge that any court has. The cases seem to tossed out without examining the merits.
no they haven't. They could of stomped on Obamacare last month and there was some recent stupid stuff the just allowed probably about gays or abortion who knows.. time to purge the top moneychanging Bolsheviks. That will get everyone's attention and end the NGOs
