I know it’s not possible to fully stop buying their crap, but I actively do my best to first buy USA made products, and then other countries if I fail to find US made.

Even went as far as buying the lesser iPhone version that was made in India.

I think it’s important we stop funding the Commies that are hell-bent on destroying our great nation.

Every little thing counts.

This is one of many reasons I don't use Amazon. They hide the country of origin on most of their product listings. When I do need Chinese made stuff I try to buy secondhand on eBay so another American gets my money instead of Chyna.

jigglyp33n 51 points ago +51 / -0

I'm convinced Amazon actively pushes cheaper, inferior versions of products, hides product information, and allow fake reviews to remain. I only buy Japanese and American things on Amazon now.

39
defroach84 39 points ago +39 / -0

Amazon will copy products sold by American based businesses and then price their copies lower than the originals. It's devastating to the companies who made the original product. Channel 4, or one of the BBC outlets in the UK, did an hour long special on Amazon's ruthless tactics. Amazon even rigs the search algorithm so their copies show up prior to the original product being searched for. Amazon is long overdue for being broken up. Separate Amazon web services from Amazon's shopping e-commerce website and Amazon will no longer be able to undercut local American mom and pop sellers on pricing.

There needs to be a law requiring companies to disclose the countries of origin of their on sale products

u/Doggos u/CovfefeBucks I don't know what changed on site (now there's auth win?) but my saved password wasn't saved when I try to log in... did a change break password apps?

2

A week ago with the auth update doggos said all users were logged out. Password isn’t saved since you’re logging into a new domain, but now all win accounts are unified to support a larger Reddit-destroying platform

JohnTexasBaron 15 points ago +15 / -0

We need the anti trust Act to breakup this monopoly... force disclosures and local merchants/ kickbacks onto the platform. Essentially force them to accept local competition into their platform .. probably much more than that. But monopoly power is not acceptable in America.

handsoffmyCawk -12 points ago +2 / -14

That sounds like big government, in my free market? In the defense of Amazon, it's cheaper and more efficient for the consumer in an economic sense and is a sign of economic innovation. They're killing retail stores and buying their cheap corpses for even more warehouse space. They remove all the bullshit costs of running a Macy's while getting you the product cheaper and faster than traditional means.

10
Caprikel 10 points ago +11 / -1

That kind of retarded thinking is the reason we're on the edge of becoming a Corporate Oligarchy.

8
Freedomshield 8 points ago +8 / -0

Yeaaaa...I'd rather pay 10% more, buy less shit and not help concentrate the entirety of retail sales to a single mega Corp.

6
Symko 6 points ago +6 / -0

Quantity never replaces quality. Clothing and Electronics wear out faster when they are made in China because China is skilled at planned obsolescence. You aren't saving money.

8
Zanesapphire 8 points ago +8 / -0

Completely agree. I have American made things from the 50’s and they out perform every God damn thing made today. I’m one of those history people that love doing things like it’s 40s and 50s. Ironing shirts, hand washing clothes that are delicate, there’s a self discipline to this as well as learned patience.

1
JohnTexasBaron 1 point ago +1 / -0

Right, free market is the right way 95% of the time, that description is free market at any expense which isn’t America first. The threshold for regulation is Monopoly power and the destruction of local and of censorship. Those need to be solved and free market at any cost isn’t gona work. What do you suggest in light of this?

5
Marble68 5 points ago +5 / -0

It's higher margin for them, that's why.

1
jigglyp33n 1 point ago +1 / -0

Because the Chinese shit is supplied for free, right?

6
Marble68 6 points ago +6 / -0

You still have to feed slave labor.

But hey, lefties can feel even more smug driving electric cars because the slave labor children working the rare earth mines have a smaller environmental impact than an adult.

Made in America products: https://www.madeinamerica.co/pages/thelist

Also, if you include USA or made in USA it will show in Amazon, but it has to be in title of the product listing usually and most made in USA products proudly market this.

defroach84 3 points ago +3 / -0

Excellent advice, thank you!

2
GBA4ever 2 points ago +2 / -0

Thanks for the tip! I only use Amazon when I can’t find what I’m looking for anywhere else. I’ve messaged them several times to add a country of origin feature with no response.

3
nachosamplerREBORN 3 points ago +3 / -0

Would be nice, but if a company does not market the ‘Made in the USA’ slogan, you can’t assume it’ not made the in the USA.

Awesome, thanks for the link.

1
Lla26 1 point ago +1 / -0

Nordic Ware is listed on that site but their stuff is made in China. Or at least some is.

1
nachosamplerREBORN 1 point ago +1 / -0

Sometimes some specific products are made in USA and others somewhere else so not sure if these particular products are from Nordic Ware are made in USA. But thanks for the info. I’ll double check before a purchase.

1
dadwasasmallbusiness 1 point ago +1 / -0

“The vast majority” of their stuff is still made 20 min from me in St Louis Park MN

7
sentient-potato 7 points ago +7 / -0

You can often find out if it was made in China if you search the "answered questions".

If I don't find the answer I like, I don't buy it.

5
quantum_wetware 5 points ago +5 / -0

same, I don't trust the reviews on that site anymore

4
refresco 4 points ago +4 / -0

You can score some good made in the USA stuff there if you know where to look. People Socks and Okabashi sandals come to mind.

10
defroach84 10 points ago +10 / -0

On Amazon? Oh yeah they have some nice stuff on there. But I'd rather not give Bezos more money since he owns the Washington Post that publishes fake news about Trump every damn day along with election rigging debooking nonsense. Fuck Bezos!

5
ThickCheney 5 points ago +5 / -0

Yeah if it’s on Amazon, chances are you can find it elsewhere.

23
ChiBears1985 23 points ago +24 / -1

Been thinking about this for a bit now, we need:

An American Product Score “APS” – Using the template of the Universal Product Code “UPC” as a guide, all products bought and sold in America must have on them a breakdown of what percentage the product was produce, manufactured, assembled, grown, or developed in America. This will arm the American consumer with necessary information to buy the more “American” products when presented with a choice between two competing products.

Was about to post prc. Walmart sells many OTC pain meds made in China but hides it by saying things like "distributed by" some USA thing. Or packaged in, etc.

21
Winner2020 21 points ago +21 / -0

I go out of my way to buy non-woke brands and goods Made in the USA. It's difficult which is truly sad.

12
Turtle 12 points ago +12 / -0

One of my biggest "two buttons" meme moments is when your choice is between hyper woke made in the USA vs foreign made.

I recently completed an AT thruhike (fuck the ATC), and all of my gear was made in the USA by cottage companies, but some of them got so retardedly woke I ended up buying a few things from japan just to avoid them. One company, USA Made, was donating 10% of their profits to BLM and I was like, yeah i'll just buy it from foreign communists rather than domestic communists.

5
AllyInAsia 5 points ago +5 / -0

Japan could use the money tbh. Only problem is the Yakuza.

4
bigdaddy2 [S] 4 points ago +4 / -0

Whats the best alternative? I was going to use jet.com but they went out of business.

7
LeftistsAreInsane 7 points ago +7 / -0

There's not always an alternative, but sometimes. You may be able to buy directly from the manufacturer.

2
Boudicca2 2 points ago +3 / -1

Overstock?

6
UnderCoverTrumper 6 points ago +6 / -0

What do you want to buy? I've been buying directly from producers, buying second hand, or researching to see who doesn't contribute to cucks whenever I buy something.

2
bigdaddy2 [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

It depends, sometimes theres something really niche that I can only find on Amazon.

I try to avoid it as much as possible as well though. Just wondering if there was a good alternative.

3
UnderCoverTrumper 3 points ago +3 / -0

Oh yeah, there were a few products I used to really like that are now only selling on Amazon. I quit buying them and I told the producers why. So far, I haven't had to turn to the Cuckazon for anything but I also don't have a family yet so my needs are very modest.

13

I think we need to compile a list of USA made products so we can easily direct pedes to support these businesses!

8
Freedomshield 8 points ago +8 / -0

It's tough, you either buy Apple, or Google (both of which are cucked out of their minds). I have heard that BlackBerry (Canadian) has teamed up with a company from Texas to build "the most American phone ever" and it's dropping next year, so here's hoping.

5
GarudaOne 5 points ago +5 / -0

Not the phone that's the issue, it's the operating system. You truly only have Apple or Android. Unless this BlackBerry project is creating its own OS.

Here is a tip when buying specialized Asian food/snacks/drinks - always buy Japanese first (best quality and tastes amazing), Korean/Taiwan second, every other country. Source: I'm Chinese and ask any Asian American.

So much this. If you buy domestic tax and payroll tax and money stays in the country.

I told people specifically this year, that if they wanted to get me a present I liked to get me something made in America. Can't go wrong there. Even if the gift is something I wont use, I'll appreciate that it was made by Americans making an honest living for themselves.

9
DowsaTV 9 points ago +9 / -0

PLEASE. STOP. BUYING MADE IN CHINA.

THAT GOES FOR "CE" TOO.

UPVOTED.

8
jomten 8 points ago +8 / -0

Ive been doing this for a while. Need to bring LOCAL manufacturing back.

Working on getting equipment to be able to make things from recycled plastic, soft metals (aluminum-brass, Iron and Steel is very hard to find info on), and wood.

Also we NEED NEED NEED to get back to a precious metal standard. Gold, Silver, Copper, Platinum, the government cannot just print more whenever it wants which is why it hates them.

2
tentonbudgie 2 points ago +2 / -0

You can buy silver one ounce rounds all day long, that's already a standard

1
jomten 1 point ago +1 / -0

There is the risk the government will confiscate it all again however.

The lefts hero FDR took all the gold once, when I read that I nearly fell over.

We need to put freedom of trade into the constitution, allowing us to use any metric for buying and selling. Like pricing things in gold/silver, which I believe is currently illegal

2
tentonbudgie 2 points ago +2 / -0

We're not so trusting anymore. Keep your silver.

8
Coprolite 8 points ago +9 / -1

I will only buy made in China if there is no alternative or if it's second hand.

Avoid buying from amazon in general. Even the non-chinese stuff is often fake Chinese copies. Always buy direct from the maker or some other non-Amazon site whenever possible.

If you must buy on Amazon, just search for china in the question/answer section.

7
MattWoodPA 7 points ago +8 / -1

IF YOU BUY FROM AMAZON...always use prime and return the item before you run out of time to...they will take it and refund you..if you want the item back just order again and return again ...can enjoy most things for a month for free...you return and 75% of the time it goes to garbage anyway...put the cost all on amazon ..been doing it for awhile....i return tools i use to build and they just gimme my money back ..idiots

3
Freedomshield 3 points ago +3 / -0

It's actually the seller who eats the cost (unless you're buying directly from Amazon - i.e. Amazon Basics). Amazon is greasy, they still take a cut from the seller, even if the product is returned, so they never lose. I'd avoid doing that to any American sellers, but if you can confirm the third party selling the item is Chinese, go hard, fuck China.

7
Dialectic 7 points ago +7 / -0

It's difficult, trust me I've been trying. As long as you can buy non-chinese, as opposed to solely made in usa, it is quite doable to shift your consumption further away from Chinese products. And you don't have to be 100% with this, because if the entire MAGA movement simply changed 10% of their spending away from Chinese I think it would be crippling.

Amen. I strive to not buy anything Made in China. Not the easiest thing to do, but I still try. Thankfully, many companies are getting the message and are switching manufacturers. Even Dollar Tree is getting there. And there are online sites like eBay and esty...

12
UnderCoverTrumper 12 points ago +12 / -0

Ebay and Etsy are both pretty cucked. sadly. Did you hear etsy now bans selling "Stop the steal" Merch and anything related to how Biden stole 2020? I am mostly buying from Goodwill/second hand shops these days...

8
Oprah_Windbag 8 points ago +8 / -0

I know i sell things on etsy and they sent me an email with gift recommendations from Whoopi Goldberg. Cunt makes me sick, but my stuff is still made in America.

6
UnderCoverTrumper 6 points ago +6 / -0

Man, I'm sorry. I used to shop on Etsy so much, lots of great Americans making great products on there. Now I tend to buy from people with their own sites if I buy something new.... I'm glad to hear there are still patriots on there. MAGA

I stopped buying socks made in China or Pakistan (Chinese satellite state), which is very hard btw and now end up paying 20% more for made in Honduras under armour socks. The UA socks are also way better in quality but there’s my little story of a little bit less of China in my life.

Oh this tactic works! I'm going to look more for proof to link, but consumers across the fucking world are pissed at China and are doing this. And they are hurting because of it. One thing I think is huge, and maybe our group isn't a big buyer of these.. but the fucking off brand hand sanitizer, that you see everywhere, single use masks etc. Flip those boxes and look at where they're made. If it says Made in China or PRC don't fucking buy it!!

I want to say also that I think a huge amount of money laundering in Dem controlled States during this plandemic has been through PPE purchase.

I have read that the ChiComs sometimes put 'made in Vietnam' on clothing items to circumvent some people's unwillingness to buy commie goods. Merchants who used cheap ChiCom labor (or worse) will often put the following: Made from US materials overseas. Many of the more expensive shoe manufacturers will hide the made in China label in difficult to access places in the shoe. I try to avoid buying anything made in China too though it is an uphill battle.

3
Marble68 3 points ago +3 / -0

Agreed - if the choice is a few bucks extra difference in price, pay a little extra to cut off their cash.

If you're like me, every penny counts, but I'll do my best to avoid buying their shit.

Fuck 'em.

3
Symko 3 points ago +3 / -0

This is extremely crucial. You're funding this nonsense whenever you purchase something made in China. You will save money because you won't have to buy it multiple times WHEN it breaks.

DO NOT shop on Amazon.com

ALWAYS check for the country of manufacture. If it isn't there, it's most likely China.

Taiwan, Malaysia and Japan have better quality standards than China.

If it's on Ebay and it has a logo of Made in America and a flag, it's made in China, always verify by checking the country of origin.

Starve the China threat by not buying their clothes, devices, equipment. The affordability just isn't worth it anymore.
