I think you're confusing your mass shootings. The Spiro the Dragon dude was recently (2 years? Was that the Christchurch 'subscribe to pewdiepie' dude?), the gun confiscation was a bit before that.
Port Arthur is in Tasmania, some Aussies might argue Tasmania isn't a part of Australia. But that's just because we don't like how to affects our statistics when you look at inbreeding.
There is still gun violence, most of it is amongst Bikie gang members doing drive bys. We never really had anything more then old rifles, handguns and shotguns, and there's still a number of them floating around. Last year some guy down the street from me got swatted for waving a pistol around on his driveway. So they are definitely still here, just consolidated more in organised crime then random shootings
Obtaining a gun license and going shooting isn't all that difficult in Australia, license will be 100% approved if you can come up with any somewhat plausible reason "my friend has a farm with a feral pig problem", unless you're in a "Outlaw Motorcycle Gang" (and if you are, then just lie about it) or if you want an arbitrarily defined "Assault Rifle". Hunting rifles are really quite common away from the big cities.
I can only buy a bow and arrow in Australia without requiring a license I believe. I envy you guys.

All my kids are feral.
I'm interested in blow darts.
Seriously.
The silent killer.
Toyota Prius
For some reason this made me envision a world where a gay conservative in a fur suit runs over biden in a prius.
maybe I've been browsing the internet too long.
I got that reference
Blow dart smeared with concentrated paste nicotine. Not something you want in your bloodstream.
We are only allowed a straight stick now.
Can it be pointy?
Hey! Whoever the stick decides to marry is his business!
2A that's a science class. But some states don't like gel-blasters.
You can get a boomerang no problem in Australia.
Yeah, we have to pay 10% GST (goods and services tax) on things we buy
RIP. Sad that one mass shooting ruined an entire country's gun laws. Unless that was a myth, forgive me.
Just like New Zealand, the government jumped on it, almost like they were waiting for it.
Most New Zealanders don't know what was written in his manifesto because they made it illegal to read it.

Would've happened here too without 2A.
Thank God the Founding Fathers were fucking amazingly smart.
You know that goes away if the Court is packed right?
Then it will be up to The People to self enforce our God given rights.
Obviously don't have any concrete proof but there's a lot of evidence the Port Arthur thing was a false flag.
Wouldn't surprise me as more and more evidence of deep state interference comes out.
Oh mate, come on. There's video proof of it.
FF doesn’t mean it didn’t happen, just means the reason/actors involved or their motives or affiliations they put forward officially is bullshit.
https://gumshoenews.com/?s=martin+bryant here is plenty of info. False flag beyond any shadow of a doubt. (at least for me)
Well, it was used as an excuse.
And it didn’t even happen in Australia, was New Zealand I believe, port something or other.

Oh ok, I thought the shooting was in New Zealand.
Even then I'm probably on a watchlist for looking up medieval weapons, can't even own a crossbow smfh
I'm definitely on several given my frequent visits to 4chan and this website.
I'm on a dozen lists for saying every islamic supremacist and communist needs to be slaughtered to save the world. LOL it's gettin' genocidal in here
Do the criminals have weapons, or has a total ban made a violence free utopia like they promise?

Yeah, you guys gave up your gun rights way to easily.
Unfortunately I was only a child when it happened.

Go and get a gun licence. Easy as in Australia.
I'm definitely thinking of it. Not for self defense obviously, only for recreational purposes at a shooting range etc.
