Hey, everyone. I know it's a bit late to make this request of you, but I know there's a lot of faithful Pedes out there, and I figured, hey, how could it possibly hurt?
Tomorrow, it being the Lord's Day, I was planning on making it a full day of fasting and prayer, for our President, and for our Nation. And I thought, well, maybe some of you would like to join in with me. Not gonna set any rules, any goals, any anything like that. Just if anyone interested can take some time tomorrow to forego a meal or two, and pray for what's right to win out in this, the last bastion of freedom and righteous rule in the world.
That's all. Just wanted to make this request, of any who would listen. And thank you, to any who would join in.

FASTING ON SUNDAYS HAS ALWAYS BEEN FORBIDDEN.

You must lead a pretty sheltered life ,do you really think for one minute that down through the Ages Farmers etc slaved away in the fields from dawn to dusk 6 days a week to fast on their day of rest ??You have never been to a church that held a Sunday feast after mass ,to make sure the poor can feast to celebrate the resurrection ?? This is a pretty good indication of your actual faith & understanding of the Bible
Ah, I see you're a Catholic, then. As a Protestant, we aren't prohibited from fasting on Sundays. It's a doctrine of the Catholic Church, specifically. Maybe Greek Orthodox, too. But that's because it's usually viewed as a penitent act. I'm taking it merely as a way to deny the flesh and focus on the spirit. Since you are prohibited, though, I'll invite you to share in the prayer aspect, then, so not to violate an action you take in faith.

Not all Christian faiths observe Sunday as their day of rest.
Anyways you'd be better served dishing out your self-righteousness on your Pope. He's supposed to be some holy figurehead and yet he blasphemes God with his every action.

Dude, I just bumped into this but I was pushing for the same thing last Sunday. I hope your fast went well because you were not alone. Really nice to see this getting pushed. I know the stars are lining up for end times right now but God has listened when nations fasted and called on him. Perhaps we’ll see more days ahead before things get to a boiling point again. Fingers crossed!

Thanks, man, and it went very well. Made it through to the next morning at around 9, and every time I felt hungry it reminded me to take a moment and again pray for the nation.
I've got faith that no matter what, all things will work out to the Glory of Christ. Hopefully that involves us NOT watching our country die, but either way, the good guys win in the end.
