I think sticky opaque stuff would be useful as a deterrent. Something like Great Stuff is a nightmare to control without acetone, and it gets all over your shit, covers goggles, clogs masks, etc. Downside is controlling dispersal to prevent getting it on yourself. Unsure if there are legal ramifications, so definitely don't ever use this idea.
Yes, either from front and back to squeeze out (most effective in street), or front hold, while attacking back with side smash calvary (or equivalent, such as running clothesline with protected arm gear.
Pincer tactics. Manuever warfare.
That or go back to phalanxes with shields.
It'd be really nice to have a consistent way to get their masks off. I think that alone would probably solve about 90% of the problem. Exposure.

Wet mask is a sad mask.
Mix a little habanero in there for effect. Should infuse nicely with the alcohol from the wash.
Shields and sticks are overcome easily. Multifront attack, disperse their strength. Or something that can reach farther
That's why I said multifront. You can't have shields on all sides unless you box yourself in.
Yes! Study historical battles and modern tactics. Theres times to use either

Ancients already did all this. Gobs of playbooks to follow. Modern low intensity urban conflict looks relatively amateurish.
Yeah, i think i pulled that from an Alexander the Great battle...I’m sure they have some generals on the ground there.
Wait, you mean basic tactics win battles? Crazy...
