Warning shots are also not recommended. Only fire at whatever you are willing to destroy.

I understand the sentiment, but that is fudd advice, and not legit. Warning shots, for one thing, are illegal, and will do nothing to deter a legitimate threat. I can guarantee you that there is not a single firearms self defense course in the U.S. that advocates for warning shots. We have a God given right to defend ourselves, but with that right comes the responsibility to be extremely disciplined.

That just circles back to why you can't use birdshot in the first place. It is a nightmare for first responders, impossible to remove all pellets and will guarantee infection at best, and a slow, agonizing death at worst. The use of firearms is always from a self defense perspective, and only within reasonable means to stop a threat. Aim center mass, use regular ammunition types. I'm not trying to be patronizing, nor do I have all the answers, but there are a lot of new firearm owners who have not received training or education, not even from any fault of their own.

When I saw warning, I mean just firing directly on them with a lesser lethal round

... which is gonna land you in shit if you end up in court.

Yeah, do us all a favor and DON’T shoot your fucking gun to get some minors off your land. They better be up to something nefarious. If you see kids walking in a field or woods you own, maybe approach them and remind them it’s private property. Most times they are just out with friends or family and wandered off public property. Kids and teens legitimately don’t understand directional orientation.

If you shoot your gun off and accidentally hit a kid who is just walking on your property, no amount of “But it’s my land!” is going to save you.
