Got a buddy with a .40 HiPoint pistol he bought when he was rather poor, and it's about the ugliest damn thing I've seen. It shoots great as long as it's greased, though.
I've got one of their older 9mm carbines and that thing has never given me any problems in the years I've had it.
They are ugly, heavy, and massive, but they definitely do work and can take a beating. I certainly not a fan of the handguns, but I actually don't hate the carbine. In fact, I find that one kinda neat.
