I was there and spoke to a cop about this. I'm not sure of the case, but the cop asked me to warn people if i see them arching a taser. You can carry them concealed and use in self defense, but walking around making that threatening zapping sound is seen as brandishing a firearm and waving it around by their law. Carry it. don't wave it around. This is why they were arrested. The cops were mostly chill. Spoke to many of them.
There are anti-laser glasses you can get, and I believe that some welding gear can be protective as well. The glasses are cheap and just look like sunglasses.
