Honestly, reddit-style upvoting/downvoting is the worst thing to happen to the internet. It completely puts an end to actual discussion and dialog.
I don't give a shit about points. I've posted thoughts and opinions here before, people disagree with and I'm more than happy to have an open discussion with people about things. Back in the day, if someone said something someone else disagreed with, the only option was to call them out in a rebuttal. Nowdays, those stupid little arrows have destroyed that. Don't like something someone says? Downvote. No discussion, no dialog, just "no, fuck you". Get some of your friends to jump on and do the same and suddenly opinions that are actually more popular than many realize are shoved into oblivion.
