I have one of the early MVP Varmint 24" in 5.56. It's best for the commies if they keep back about 500m or so. Anything under 200m and I'd just trim their nose hairs before turning out the lights. For an affordable rifle that talks dirty about magazine size to the AR, zero complaints here.
With bipod, optics, and that laminated target stock, it is definitely not the one I'd sling over my shoulder and walk 200 miles with. M&P15 Gen 1 has that job if it ever came to it. This one's more for standoff defensive use or select social work if certain groups decided to get frisky too close to my area. Here's to hoping all I ever have to shoot at is paper targets.
