As a wife, who really hates being lied to, I'd bet she knows about your new gun. Either subconsciously, which inspired the dream. Or KNOWS, knows and was giving you a chance to come clean.
Tell her the truth. Tell her how important she is to you and that you want to be able to protect her, your family, your home and the life you share. Face the argument, but don't keep secrets.
This is the only course of action. You must always be straightforward and forthcoming with your wife. You would expect her to do the same.
Hiding information, whatever the nature, will only lead to a lack of trust, more hiding of information (perhaps from her in the future), and eventual resentment.
It's better to be a man and tell her. Tell her it's because you love her and want to protect her and the family. Tell her you love her and respect her enough that you feel you have to tell her, even though its uncomfortable for you to do so and it risks starting an arguement. Ask her to respect your decision.
If done properly, her love for you and your relationship will only increase!
Truth, when hidden, eventually always comes to light anyway! And then it will cause real damage. Nip it in the bud now pede!
Wrap it up and put it under the tree as a present to her. Take her shooting after Christmas. If she doesn't like it, keep it saying you can't return it.
Question her standing. Why didn't she complain before you bought the gun? She had every year of her life before then to complain.
Then deny right to redress on this little known Marital Law concept:
You bought the gun 3 months ago, and she should have complained then. If she argues she has an entire house to look after, just say it's not your problem her priorities were not focused on looking for guns. So her anger is moot. Also, the gun is already in the house and it's been fine since it came in, so what is she sooo worried about now?
I have an AR waiting to be picked up at my FFL. My job hasn't given me any time off to go get it. Been there since the 9th and won't be able to go get it until next Saturday because fuck my job. My wife doesn't know about it yet. Oh well

I disagree; lie more, but more.
;)
Good advice, thank you
Best wishes, Fren!

I’m sorry to hear that your wife spoiled the surprise that you bought her an AR15 for Christmas...
You need to confess. Use the 'been months ago...' story best you can. Your woman is either psychic - or has already found the thing.
Either way - you will gain the big points in the long run if you fess up first.
If you fess up, she will feel affirmed and grateful. Big bonding moment if you want it.

*Besides, not like she'll make you sell it! Already went up in value!
ps: Jewelry always helps.

Busted. She found it, gave you a chance to come clean and you blew it.
Tell her its an insurance policy to protect from social unrest and tyranny.
Go back, apologize and tell her the truth.

Or as it is known in marital law: Bitches.
Do you have a family member you could gift it to?
Can you sell it? And then discuss getting one and if she agrees get another?
As it stands, when she finds out it will be a betrayal of trust. You should have come clean when she asked.
You can't get that trust back if you get caught.
I didnt buy a gun, I bought a rifle. your dream has been DEBOOONKED
This is my rifle. This is my Gun!
Don’t feel bad. Sucks you had to lie to her but she will be happy you have it if you need it.
Baseless claims
