Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE in the US has it in their best interests that elections should be run smoothly. 'Standing' as a concept certainly seems important for most legal cases, although I'm not a lawyer.
In my uneducated and unprofessional opinion, the only 'standing' you should need to sue to ensure the integrity of an American election is US citizenship. You could make this happen with relevant legislation.
I know no one's willing to accept yet that Trump might not be able to stop the steal, but it's worth putting in place contigencies in case he can't. If he can bring forth legislation that bans requiring standing for election lawsuits, he can make future fraud easier to examine in court.
Maybe it's wishful thinking IDK. I haven't given up on this election, but I think it isn't wise to not be prepared if it doesn't turn out. And before everyone responds 'if it doesn't turn out then we fight', you have to recognize that voting legitimately and challenging fraudulent results in court are still necessary expressions of intent and that we would have to use ALL avenues available to get the public on our side so that we ultimately win.
