Jedi has unfortunately drained Microsoft's general employee base of a huge portion of the non leftists. Most right leaning people at the company got themselves transferred into the "US citizens only" stuff and it's left the rest of the company an echo chamber for stupid leftist ideas. Gates isn't in charge anymore, nobody at the company cares about his opinion vs the current CEO. A couple years ago it was actually not a bad work environment for a conservative (MUCH less leftist than most of the options in the Seattle area) , but now it's gone totally to shit. Wuflu has set their corporate culture karening out of control.
As a former Microsoft fanboy, this makes sense. Steve Ballmer (previous CEO) was a registered Republican, even. Then Satya came in. Wall Street loves him, and he handles Azure well, but Ballmer did a much better job supporting consumers. Look at how long he hung on to Windows Phone, the Xbox 360 during the RROD fiasco, providing real privacy options for people, physical Microsoft Stores etc.
I think when Ballmer left, I realized that I was more of a Steve Ballmer fan than a Microsoft fan.
Satya did make some changes that were objectively better and generated great success, but then he let the senior leadership fill up with bus-dems, corporate Karens, and whacktivists. I suspect the monster is out of his control now. You'll be happy to know that the emphasis on privacy and strict limitations on using customer data are still in place, much to annoyance of the activists.
