In Star Trek Enterprise specifically and in the Star Trek narrative generally, the aliens accept to disclose their existence when humanity develops the warp engine. The warp drive was initially an SF concept present in Star Trek and Isaac Asimov's works (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warp_drive) to became later on a theoretical scientific theory, that is the Alcubierre drive (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alcubierre_drive). So Trump wished to disclose the alien's existence but they said we are not ready. In Star Trek, it is said that humanity will become ready when it would develop the warp drive that would permit faster than light speeds.
