Like it or not, at some point (probably back on reddit, and for sure since moving here) this place became more than just a rally. It became a place in which uncomfortable truths or opinions could be shared without a need for orthodoxy. A place to combat the disintegration of our society and culture. It didn't always get it correct but for the most part its heart was in the right place.
I have always tried to apply that mindset, the integrity of giving my true viewpoints on any subject, when I post here. It has become impossible for me to continue to do so without being labeled a doomer or a shill. Nonetheless, I will continue to give my unvarnished take and refuse to carry water for anyone or anything if it goes against my beliefs. If that results in my ban one day, so be it. But I hope not, because the creation (TDW) has surpassed the horizons its creators once saw.

This doomer nonsense will be the end of this website, but not for the reason you think. The quixotics will run off anyone with any grounding in reality and TDW will became a silly fanfic repository of Trump's second term (while IRL the Harris Administration chugs along)
Yeah, we can’t go into the “Here is how Bernie can STILL WIN!” territory. We cannot be divorced from reality. You want to start banning anyone who SEES THE OBVIOUS TRUTH that Trump has many uphill battles, then all that will remain are Karma farmers.

Trump is all talk and his path forward is not viable. It never was. He knows this and is simply poisoning the well by goading on the hardcore. The GOP is over a barrel because of Trump's popularity with the base. That's why they do the half-hearted motions.
What I want for this site is to pivot to actually improving the US culturally and eventually politically, because whatever it is doing now is not that.
