I imagine they are more worried about the 1.5 billion Chinese neighbors then the USA, I think they just want to do their own shit, without us surrounding them with NATO members, and talking shit about them. And Putin is a badass, like his people.
It's hard to tell because we're fed so many different narratives about Russia, and Russia is not very forthcoming. Still, Putin is one of the few world leaders that hasn't congratulated Biden. They know the "wonders" of Communism. They've done a few things that pissed off globalists before.
Cautiously, I would say potential ally. Maybe. At the very least, the fact that MSM is constantly shilling against them makes me think.
