I lost my restaurant job at the beginning of the pandemic and didn't cash in on that govt check and the extra $600/week cuz a friend of mine said I could take a room at his place and work on his farm for a while so I did that and sent money back home to cover my rent but then that all dried up around early September cuz the crop comes out of the ground and it gets cold and all that (I was also under the impression that all this pandemic shit was clearing up while I was out there so I was spending a little bit of money on car parts to fix this car [my first car ever, at 28 yrs old, lol] I bought a while back so I could finally get it on the road. It's good that I never got it on the road though cuz I'd have insured it and lost money faster when it all came down.)and then when I got back to the city, there was no jobs to be seen and half of the businesses were shuttered or "closed for the winter" (as though they've ever done that before) so I got on unemployment but that hasn't come in since October and the system is bullshit. You go online to the live chat and it kicks you out the second you finish entering your credentials. You call in and it tells you that due to covid-19, the response times are longer so you should go to the website and use livechat but you can stay on the line if you want to wait and if you do, the line disconnects at the 45 minute mark EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. So that leaves you with sending them an email but the email button pops up a warning when you click it that lets you know that it's a 3-6 week response time minimum. I am currently on week 5 of waiting for a response as to why I haven't seen my unemployment checks in months(even though it was only $248/month and my rent is $385/month but that's beside the point) so i've run through my savings at this point. I've put in job apps everywhere but the only thing available right now is remote office work and they all want 2-3 yrs exp minimum and i've never worked in an office in my life. I'm a manual labor kind of guy. I haven't paid my rent this month, spent my last dollar last week, and am not sure how i'm gonna get food tomorrow. I've been homeless before and in the winter too, I'll likely be alright, I just don't know what i'm going to do with my computer or my rifle come New Years Day....oh and my bed I guess. What is really getting to me though is that, prior to this pandemic bullshit, I was doing better than I ever have before. I didn't have much but I had more money in my bank account than I had ever seen in it before...now, i'm worse off, financially, than I have been in years. All of that that I was so proud of is just gone and all over fucking politics.
Fuck it. If you dont have much of a family and nowhere to go, go on a fishing processor in Alaska, they're hiring like crazy for A season in about a month. Food and a place to stay and can make some crazy money if you can bust ass. PM me if you have questions.

Don't get me started on Piss Pants Pelosi, I could've at least paid my rent through February if that check had come in and then at least i'd have shelter for the winter.
