Now what would YOU fucking do in that environment?
Stabilize at any cost. Cut the losses, get rid of external debts. Introduce funding and centralize law enforcement. And build up upon that.
I am sure that there was a lot of things we dont know of. But he did right - he saved the country.

Putin may not be a friend of USA, but he's easy to understand. He does not take benefit of USA into account, he wants most benefit to his own country and to expand its infuence. When working together to our mutual benefit, that could be a very powerful alliance.
