It's not like hackers deny this either, social engineering is always a part of any CtF game, and any security conference will highlight just as many social exploits as technical ones.

May I add a bit a clarification? Only a single SolarWinds product "Orion", was compromised. Not all SolarWinds customers use the Orion product.
