They never said masks would go away after a vaccine. Nobody has ever said anything about when masks can go away.

In fact, the masks aren't going away. Because they will base it on cases and/or deaths. Since neither will ever reach zero even with a vaccine, and they never told us how many cases and deaths merit masks in the first place (as opposed to the seasonal flu), masks are here to stay.
