Exactly that's what I was gona say! Engines are more efficient, we have displacement on demand and VTEC and way better turbos and all kind of stuff. The Toyota may get better MPG but the fullsize truck mileage is way better now than it was 10 years ago.
One will tow 10,000 pounds, the other will not. One seats 4-5, the other will not.
While that 20 year old Toyota may get better MPG odds are the newer full size has lower emissions.
There are good trucks on both sides

Jap trucks put in the work. We've had a bunch of frontiers putting in 200k reliably like a good diesel. Depends on the work obviously.
