I'm genuinely confused - if the SCOTUS doesnt involve, where'd that order Alito made come from, why'd they involve themselves that time? Or am I missing something?

I have same question. SCOTUS Texas denial to hear case based on lack of standing seems bogus

For that matter, why should the SCOTUS involve itself on ANY state issue? I havent been able to rationalize it in my own mind. You mean to tell me the SCOTUS can involve on very personal issues like overturning convictions or executions, or even making us get Obamacare - but not a federal election?

Supreme Court functions to resolve constitutional interpretational matters. (In my limited opinion Texas case is a constitutional matter)

I think from my limited knowledge Supreme Court was telling Texas to file complaints in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Georgia,,etc etc.
