I'm lucky, I'm 34 and have full custody of mine. Being single is a lot more comforting when you already have kids. The dating world is beyond anything I've ever seen. Constant profiles of girls claiming their the mom of some damn animal, while screaming how independent they are. All while asking for money with a lead ring in the nose.
Well, being the lady it'll be a tad different. Also being in my mid-30s I am basically in the position where if I want to have children it will be on my own. I don't mind it. I have the wonderful support of my family. They want me to have a child. My ex just didn't want to have children so Ieft before it was too late. Have you tried church? I'm a Catholic, if you find a more traditional parish then you'll find lots of wife material. The only problem is the more traditional they are, the younger they tend to get married so depending on how old you are it could be tough sledding.
I'm sure the same goes for Protestants and other Christians. Just find a based church.
All the churches around me are promoting cultural Marxism. Perhaps it's because I'm in Chicago, but every time I see this advice I roll my eyes because what have observed contradicts what you say.
It definitely depends on your area, and you may have to do some serious digging. I can get where this advice seems silly, as I have run into my fair share of frankly crappy churches in my day. But I'm a determined sort, and I bet even in Chicago if you searched hard enough you'd find a church that wasn't full of crazy Marxists. I'm in Texas, but I'm in a blue city where many of the churches are awful. It took me years to find one that didn't stink, but the hunt was more than worth it.
Fair enough. I've only looked into 3 or 4 churches so far. Idk, posts like these just worry me a bit since I'm 24.5 and wondering if I'm aging out and wasting my youth in a place that I grew up in but no longer fit in culturally and that is being made worse because of Chinavirus hysteria. I have the kind of job where I can work anywhere but I still need to be in Chicago for a few more years to get experience that will make moving possible.
I don't own a car but there really are a lot of churches that are easy for me to get to; I just put a halt right now because I'm just not digging the restrictions at the moment. I've resorted to just independent Bible study for now to fortify my faith. Also, the Chicago suburbs aren't that conservative and have swung Democrat in the past few elections so it may not be that much better.
But you have a point. I realize that having a scarcity mentality won't get me anywhere. I have solid career aspects, I'm doing great financially, and I'm able to run my own household. The guys that I know do well with dating and relationships are just a few years older than me, so maybe it's just an age thing. But I know I want to settle down and have a family, so I just have to remind myself to stay focused in the present and enjoy the bachelor life while I work towards the life that I do want for myself.
I think the biggest challenge would be knowing how to date (or court - is that how it's done?) a conservative woman. The woman I've dated had all sorts of issues, like anorexia, cutting themselves, not keeping a clean home, et cetera. And since I did not have strong male role models in my life, I was (and maybe still am) just a dog, like I learned from my peers (using dating apps or drinking and partying to get with women). It's tough to imagine a woman who's wife material. But perhaps you are right that I still need some time to grow up because you are right that my brain is still developing. In Chicago and I guess other metro areas, the youth are thrown into the rat race early because we have to learn how to make money. I guess learning how to love comes later.

It depends. My father was 40 when I was born, but he was fit and healthy. I would say that around 35, you need to start really watching your health and staying physically active, because kids take a lot of work.
A friend of mine's dad was 55 when she was born. By the time she was 10, he couldn't do much of anything fun, and people always thought he was her grandfather, which did bother her. He ruined his health with bad habits, and had a stroke when she was 20. Died before she even graduated college.
