The thing is, I appreciate Trump saying he will pardon Assange, but if he does so now wouldn't that leave Assange to be ravaged by the commie wolves over in Europe? He isn't in a USA prison right now, he is locked up over there for other charges from other countries. If the USA takes their hands off then there is nothing holding European deep state-type figures back from making an example of him.
What needs to happen is we have Assange extradited over here to stand trial, where he can spill all the beans he's got, and THEN Trump pardons him.
